Mailchimp Notes
Signup Process:
Mailchimp does not have a native WhatsApp integration. However, you can explore third-party
tools or Zapier to connect Mailchimp with WhatsApp.
6. Message Integration:
Mailchimp allows you to integrate with various messaging platforms like Facebook Messenger
and Instagram. To set up the integration:
1. Navigate to your Mailchimp account dashboard's "Audience" tab.
2. Click on "Settings" and then select "Audience name and defaults".
3. Scroll down to find the "Extras" section and click on "Connected Sites and Apps".
4. Follow the prompts to connect your desired messaging platforms.
7. Webhooks Setup:
Webhooks allow you to receive real-time data notifications from Mailchimp to your server. To
set up webhooks:
1. Once logged in, click on the "Make a Zap" button located at the top left corner of the
dashboard.
2. This will initiate the process of creating a new Zap (Zap is Zapier's terminology for an
automated workflow).
Step 3: Choose Mailchimp as the Trigger App
1. In the "Choose App & Event" section, search for "Mailchimp" in the search
bar. 2. Select Mailchimp from the options that appear.
3. Choose the trigger event that you want to use. For example, you can select "New Subscriber"
if you want the Zap to trigger when a new subscriber is added to your Mailchimp list. 4. Follow
the prompts to connect your Mailchimp account to Zapier. You may need to enter your
Mailchimp API key to authorize the connection.
1. Once your Mailchimp account is connected, Zapier will test the connection to ensure
everything is working correctly.
2. Follow the instructions to set up the trigger conditions based on your selected trigger event.
For example, if you chose "New Subscriber," you might need to select the specific audience
or list to monitor for new subscribers.
1. After setting up the trigger, click on the "+" icon to add an action step.
2. In the search bar, type "WhatsApp" and select it as the action app for your Zap. 3.
Choose the action event you want to perform in WhatsApp. For example, you can select
"Send WhatsApp Message."
1. If you haven't connected your WhatsApp account before, you'll need to follow the prompts to
connect it to Zapier.
2. This might involve logging into your WhatsApp Business account or providing authorization
for Zapier to access your WhatsApp.
1. Once your WhatsApp account is connected, you'll be prompted to set up the message
that will be sent when the trigger conditions are met.
2. Customize the message using dynamic fields from the Mailchimp trigger. For example, you
can include the subscriber's name and email address in the WhatsApp message.
Step 8: Test Your Zap
1. After setting up the WhatsApp message, Zapier will ask you to test your Zap to ensure
everything is working correctly.
2. Follow the instructions to perform a test run. Zapier will simulate the trigger event and send a
test message to your WhatsApp account.
Step 9: Turn on Your Zap
1. Once you've tested your Zap and everything is working as expected, you can turn it on.
2. Zapier will start monitoring your Mailchimp account for the trigger event, and whenever it
occurs, it will automatically send the configured message to your WhatsApp account.
1. After your Zap is turned on, you can monitor its performance and manage it from your
Zapier dashboard.
2. You can view logs of triggered events, make adjustments to your Zap's settings, or turn it off
if needed.
