1 INTRODUCTION
This manual is a guide to Carimanager BlueDot software.

Carimanager BlueDot software allows Bluedot machines to communicate, via cable, with
a PC for assistance, monitoring and configuration operations.

2 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
For correct use of the Carimanager BlueDot, the minimum requirements are:

●● Windows version XP, 7,8,Vista,10 or higher;


●● “.NET Framework 4.6” or higher;
●● USB driver.

3 INSTALLATION

NOTE

Users can receive Carimanager BlueDot software as a com-


pressed directory (.zip) or in another customised mode.

WARNING

Software installation requires PC “administrator” credentials.

In any case, to start up the installation process, it is necessary to:

●● Copy or extract the software content to a local directory;


●● Start installation by opening the “SETUP.EXE” file with a dou-
ble click.

When the next screen comes up, press on the “NEXT” button.

Change the destination directory for the installation by clicking on
the “BROWSE” button. Press “NEXT” to confirm.

Press “NEXT” to confirm installation start up.

Wait for installation to complete.


Press the “CLOSE” button to conclude the installation process.

3.1 ".NET FRAMEWORK" INSTALLATION

WARNING

If the “.NET FRAMEWORK” file does not meet the minimum re-
quirements, it will need to be updated.

The following message will be viewed on the PC monitor.

It is possible to update the software by downloading manually


from the following link:

which needs to be entered in the search bar of the browser and


confirming the message as shown above.

After downloading the file, double click on it to open.

To continue, read and accept the licence conditions and select
“Install”.

Wait for the installation or select “Cancel” to interrupt operation.

At the end of installation, the following window will open on the


PC monitor.

Press “End” to complete the installation operation.

WARNING

In case of error during the installation process, we recommend


repeating the whole operation.

3.2 DRIVER INSTALLATION
To proceed with driver installation, the BlueDot machine needs to
be connected to the PC by USB cable.
NOTE

Connect the USB cable to the mini-usb socket of the card on the
machine.

ATTENTION

Insert the cable into the connector vertically so as to avoid tears


or knocks.

When the machine has been connected, the client-PC should im-
mediately detect it.
The user needs to open the control panel for the devices (Control
panel → Device control).

The machine is recognised under the heading “Other devices”,


with the name “USB_CDC0_0.”

Right click on “USB_CDC0_0” and then select “Update software
driver” and search for the driver provided.

Select manual driver search on the PC.

Select the local directory for the software.

Wait for the updated drivers to be searched and installed.

At the end of the upgrade, the following window will open on the
PC monitor.

Press “Close” to complete the update operation.

WARNING

In case of error during the installation process, we recommend


repeating the whole operation.

3.3 UNINSTALLING
To uninstall the Carimanager BlueDot software, it is necessary to
access the “Control Panel” from the PC.

Select the “Programs” menu.

Right click on the BlueDot software and select “Uninstall”.

Press “YES” to confirm the process and wait for the uninstall to
finish.

4 SOFTWARE ACTIVATION
After completing the software installation process, the relevant
icon will appear on the PC desktop.

Make sure that the program is run using administrator credentials


by right-clicking and selecting properties.

Select the “Compatibility” tab and tick alongside the string “Run
this program as administrator”.

Press “OK” to confirm the setting.


Double click on the “BlueDot” icon to start the software.
When starting up for the first time, the following product activation
screen will open.

If the activation is successful, the display will read “License OK”.

Press the “OK” button to start the product.

WARNING

If the product cannot be activated, we recommend repeating the


whole operation.

5 SOFTWARE LAUNCH/CLOSURE

NOTE
It is possible to launch the software by double-clicking with the
left button of the mouse on the BlueDot icon, or right-clicking
and selecting the “Open” option.

5.1 LOGIN
After launching the software, the user is required to complete the
Login by entering User and Password.

This request decides the type of user and influences the avail-
ability of some settings.

NOTES
For practical purposes and completeness of information, we
will illustrate the screens that can be see with level 5 password
(technical) here below.

To complete a user logout, it is necessary to open the “File” menu

6 DEVICE CONNECTION SETTINGS

NOTES

To establish an efficient connection with the machine, it is neces-


sary to set the connection parameters.

NOTES

From the PC, to define the port being used, access the “Control
panel/device management/Ports (COM and LPT)”.

Access the connection parameters selecting “Settings/Commu-


nication”.

7 SOFTWARE SESSION OPTIONS
Carimanager BlueDot software offers the user two possible oper-
ating modes:

ONLINE: machine direct


connection to PC via
USB.

OFFLINE: used to create


and customize settings.

7.1 ONLINE
At the moment of connection the software will read the machine’s
current configuration and it will allow the setting of doses and
parameters only, based on the match with the connected device.

Through the direct link, the user will be able to save the current
device configuration and also to directly tune the doses.

7.1.1 CONNECTION/ DISCONNECTION


Connect the PC to the machine and make sure that the connec-
tion ports are correct; after this, use the PC software to select
“Online” from the main menu.

7.1.2 SAVING YOUR SETTINGS

After setting the doses and the machine parameters, press the
machine button, press the save button (only on the online ses-
sion).

enabled in the default “Machine configuration” menu and set on
the Jolly.

With this menu it is possible to edit and view the delivery times
and delays for some product components in graphic form.

For example, if we look at the cappuccino.

Open the menu to view the page with some of the default pre-sets
defined by the manufacturer.

the machine is powered on. The software will check if the energy
save is working constantly based on five conditions:

●● Drink selection, if a drink is not being dispensed.
●● Button touch, if a button has not been pressed.
If all of these conditions are valid, the energy save runs and a
screensaver will appear on the screen.

The energy save will be maintained until one of the listed condi-
tion is no longer valid. At the return from the energy save, the
boiler and steam heating screen will show while the boiler and the
steam boiler return to dispense threshold set point.
