Lecture
Infographics is a communication tool used to quickly relay a lot of information visually. It uses a mix
of text, images, charts, graphs, and diagrams to summarize a topic.

About Infographics
Infographics are powerful visual tools that can effectively convey complex information in a concise
and engaging manner. In the field of education, infographics can be used to enhance teaching and
learning experiences, promote information retention, and foster critical thinking skills.

Examples of an infographic

There are several kinds of infographics. Each type will depend on the information you want to
convey to another person.

1. Informational infographics are infographics that summarize or describe a topic.


2. Statistical infographics are infographics that present numerical data to convey a topic.
3. Procedural infographics are infographics that show a process step-by-step.

Infographics can be integrated into learning materials, such as textbooks, handouts, or


presentations, to make them more engaging and visually stimulating. By incorporating relevant
visuals and graphics, infographics can capture others’ attention and help them better understand
and retain the information being presented.

Infographic Software
There are different software you can use to create infographics. For this module, we will use Adobe
Creative Cloud Express.

Adobe Creative Cloud Express is a free graphic


design software that allows you to create
different kinds of graphics, videos, web pages,
and other media. To access Adobe Creative Cloud
Express, log in through this link:

1. Open your browser and search for Adobe Creative Cloud Express or open this link:
https://new.express.adobe.com/.

2. Once the link is open, click on Continue with Google.

3. Sign in with your Google account to continue.

4. Agree to Google’s terms and conditions by clicking on Continue.

5. Complete or skip other pop-ups and dialog boxes that may appear until you reach the Adobe
Creative Cloud Express landing page.

6. Use the search bar to look for infographics. Type the word “infographic” in the search bar
and press Enter to see different templates for infographics.

Each template uses different color schemes, icons, and images.

7. Click on a template.

Avoid the ones with the crown icon. These are premium templates and you cannot save them
to your account.

When you click on a template, a


dialog box will pop up, giving
you a closer look at the
template. It will say how big the
template is, and on the sides
are arrows that will help you
navigate through the templates.

8. Click on Customize template to start making your infographic.

You should now enter the editor interface. Close any ads or pop-ups that may appear.

9. Edit the text, shapes, images, and the template by clicking on the object you want to edit
using various options and tools around the interface.

10. Click on a design element to select it and apply various basic edits.

Use the round anchors to resize a design element.

Use the rounded rectangle anchors to crop a design element.

Use the rotation anchor to rotate a design element.

Right-click on a design element to copy it, paste another element in its place, duplicate it, or
delete it from the design.

11. Click on “Untitled - <date>” at the top next to the logo to edit your infographic title.

12. Click on Download on the upper-right of the window to download your


infographic.

13. Choose JPG, then click on Download.
