highway code
If a Law Enforcement Officer informs you that you
have committed a traffic offence and you do not
provide evidence of your residency status in Spain,
you must pay or pay a deposit in the amount of
the fine incurred to be able to continue driving your
vehicle.

For traffic offences, you may choose making a re-

duced payment of the fine with a discount of 50%
of the total amount which will mean the termination
of de infringement procedure.

Should you choose not making the reduced pay-

ment of the fine on the spot and, if applicable, to Know your highway code

(within 20 calendar days of the date the offence
was committed), your vehicle will be immobilized
at the location indicated by the police officer, un-
less you make the payment in whole of the fine as
a deposit. The infringement procedure will then
