TO MINIMIZE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC SHOCK,
SERIOUS INJURIES TO PEOPLE OR DAMAGE TO
PROPERTY, PLEASE READ AND OBSERVE THE
FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS:
C011

• This manual version is an original English version. Without

the original version these instructions are not complete. Be-
fore installation and operation at the machines read complete
instructions thoroughly which means the following manuals:
"Programming manual", "Installation/Operation/Maintenance
manual". Follow the instruction written in manuals and keep
the manuals in a proper place by the machine for later use.
• The manufacturer reserves the right to change the manuals
without previous notice. All stated information is only for in-
formative purpose and must be considered as general. It is not
possible to present all the specific data of the software and
setup.
• The machine can be modified for Trace-Tech cable connec-
tion only by a qualified service technician who is familiar
with the machine and with valid safety methods to be fol-
lowed during machine modification. A qualified service tech-
nician who performs this modification takes full responsibility
for the assembly. Manufacturer / Supplier does not bear any
responsibility for machine modification and for a possible in-
jury of the operator or damage on property related to the ma-
chine modification for Trace-Tech cable connection.
• The manufacturer is not responsible for any problems that
should occur at the installation or use (misuse) of the Trace-
Tech software on the PC, laptop or other informatics equip-
ment.
• Before installation disconnect the machine power supply.
When the main switch is off, the inlet terminals of the switch
are still under current.
• To minimize the risk of fire, electric shock, serious personal
injury or property damage, check the machine before its ad-
justment to prevent the presence of any devices or electric
wires inside the machine in the spot of the hole drilling.
• Communication cable, memories and RTC (real time clock)
must be connected according to Programming manual, in ac-
cordance with the local valid norms and connection must be
executed by qualified persons with the relevant valid compe-
tence.

Application

Application

Trace-Tech Application is a management tool as assistance for a

Bio-contaminiation control System at laundries and hospitals.
Trace-Tech Application has been developed especially to visual-
ize and save wash process data in an informatics system or regis-
tered on paper.
Trace-Tech Application contains functions to ensure that the
wash cycle is completed correctly.
• Program name
• Step / bath type
• Time
• Temperature
• Water level
• Chemicals / supply outputs and soap compartments
• Agitation speed
• Drain type and duration
• Spin duration and speed
On select controls, the Trace-Tech Application allows to create
reports and graphs with personalised header. Each wash cycle and
Batch is traceable by a unique ID number. A RTC (real time
clock) is provided with the Trace-Tech Application set and stores
Date and Time.

Application Setup
Washing Machine
During communication with a PC, the washing machine must be
connected with communication cable to the PC. Refer to Com-
munication Cables for more info about communication cable.
The wash cycle data is send from washing machine to PC where
it is stored on harddisk. Plug On RTC (real time clock) maintains
Date and Time.

Wash Computer
A unique communication address must be set at the Configura-
tion Menu so that each wash computer will respond separately.
By default, the communication address is 255.
If Traceability function is required, it must be turned on at the
Advanced Menu.
• "Traceability" function must be turned on.
• "Traceability Store PC" or "Traceability Store DAQ" must be
turned on.
NOTE: If "Traceability Store PC" is used, the machine
must be connected to a PC via network or through a
USB to RS4685 convertor.
NOTE: "Traceability Store DAQ" must be cleared often.
To clear it, connect the machine to a PC and download
the stored data.
At the Running-Status screen can be monitored if there is com-

USB BUS Adapter Installation

NOTE: USB bus adapter installation guides for several
operating system versions can be found on FTDI web-
site: http://www.ftdichip.com/Documents/Install-
Guides.htm.
Generally speaking, when USB adapter is first plugged into com-
puter, the operating system will ask for drivers, which can be
found on installation CD in directory "USBDrivers". If the PC is
connected to the Internet, you will be prompted to download the
drivers. The drivers can also be downloaded from Parts Connec-
tion (the download link is located in your model´s Related Litera-
ture). The USB bus adapter will create virtual serial port with the
description "USB Serial Port", which should be set on the Trace-
Tech Application communication settings page (refer to Commu-
nication Settings). The port can be configured in Windows De-
vice Manager (can be displayed by right-clicking on "My Com-
puter" icon, select "Properties" item, system information window
opens, select tab "Hardware", click on button "Device manag-
er..."). Find the item "Ports (COM and LPT)", and item "USB Se-
rial Port (COMx)", where x is number of virtual serial port.

Messaging
Messaging subsystem allows machine to send messages when
some important event occurs (e.g. error occurs on the machine).
To use this feature machine has to have Graphitronic controller
board installed and GSM modem connected to it.
With this setup it is possible to select one from two different
kinds of messaging channels: first are text messages (i.e. SMS
messages), the second is e-mail.
For sending text messages there are no special requirements
(standard SIM card for GSM modem with SMS service enabled
is required). User then specifies number of mobile phone which
should receive messages and writes configuration to machine.

Machine Identification Settings
The Machine Identification settings are used when the Trace-
Tech Application is running in an environment where machines
with old controllers or old software is used. For such machines,
machine type cannot be determined automatically in some cases
and it is necessary to set the machine type manually based on its
address.

Figure 117

Generally these two program groups can be created for different

machines and features available on the one machine may not be
available on the other. Also limits (such as water levels, tempera-
tures, etc.) may differ from machine to machine. Thus, it is neces-
sary to specify how these differences will be handled during pro-
gram conversion.
There are two basic modes of conversion:
• Proportional mode - in this mode, all values are changed pro-
portionally to their ranges. For example, the water level on a
source machine is within the range of 10-20. While on the tar-
get machine, the same range is 20-30. In the proportional
mode, level 15 on the source machine (with limits 10-20) will
be transformed into the value 25 on the target machine (with
limits 20-30).
• Crop mode - in this mode, the value will not be changed by
conversion if it fits within the target limits; otherwise, it will Figure 118
be changed to the limit which it overcomes. For example, val-

Basic Troubleshooting and Diagnostics

Basic Troubleshooting and Diagnostics

General Communication
If you are experiencing communication errors, please check the
following:
• Check the communication cable (compare with the schematic
attached to manual).
• Check the connection of the communication cable from the
PC to the washer.
• Ensure that the communication address used in the Trace-
Tech Application is also configured on the washer.
• Check the communication using washer monitor functionali-
ties “Scan network” and “Monitor network”.

Traceability
If you are experiencing traceability errors, please check the fol-
lowing:
• Check the communication cable (compare with the schematic
attached to manual).
• Check the connection of the communication cable from the
PC to the washer.
• Check that traceability is configured to the right machine ad-
dress(es).
• Ensure that the traceability functionality on the wash is turned
on (Advanced > Traceability) and its traceability report option
is configured to either StoreDAQ or Store PC.
• Check the status of communication between the washer and
the Trace-Tech Application on the machine’s status screen
(item PC Comm).
