Olympic Rings
• The Olympic Rings were publicly presented for the first time in 1913.

• The Olympic Flag was created for the Olympic Jubilee Congress in 1914 in Paris
in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Olympic Movement.
• The first official appearance of the five-ring symbol was in 1920 at the Antwerp
Olympic Games, where it was featured on the Olympic flag.

• The Olympic Symbol consists of five interlaced rings of equal dimensions, used
alone, in one or in five different colours. When used in its five-colour version,
these colours shall be, from left to right, Blue, Yellow, Black, Green, and Red.
The rings are interlaced from left to right; the Blue, Black, and Red rings are at
the top, and the Yellow and Green at the bottom.

to claim stunning gold
• Arshad Nadeem created a new Olympic record by throwing the javelin at a dis-
tance of 92.97m (breaking the previous Olympic record of 90.57 meters which was
held by Norwegian Andreas Thorkildsen, who achieved it at the 2008 Beijing

Paris 2024 Olympics shooting: Swapnil Kusale wins bronze medal in 50m Rifle 3P
• Indian shooter Swapnil Kusale won the bronze medal in the men’s 50m Rifle 3
positions final at the Paris 2024 Olympics Shooting competition.
• This was India’s first-ever Olympic shooting medal in the 50m 3P and the third
medal in Rifle shooting after Abhinav Bindra’s gold in men’s 10m air rifle at
Beijing 2008 and Gagan Narang’s bronze in the same event at London 2012.

• At the age of 21 years and 24 days, Aman Sehrawat bettered PV Sindhu’s record
of 21 years, one month, and 14 days when she bagged the silver medal at the Rio

India wins Bronze medal in Men’s Hockey in Paris 2024 Olympic Games, de-

• India defeated Spain 2-1 in the men’s hockey bronze medal match at Paris 2024.
• The victory marks India’s 13th Olympic medal in Hockey, fourth bronze, and sec-
ond consecutive bronze after winning one at Tokyo 2020.
