AHIST 1401: ART HISTORY

Learning Journal 1

According to me, art is simply the expression of human creativity. This can be in
many forms including music, drawing, painting, sculpture, acting et cetera. When
human imagination is executed expertly art is created.

I cannot say that I am an art person in any way, shape or form. But I am interested
and open to learning about it. In my previous education, I never participated in
artistic activities or joined the arts club. But I feel like I have missed a few things
that I would probably require going forward. Therefore, my strengths in studying
art history would be my curiosity and eagerness to learn about art and its history.
In terms of weaknesses, I think my lack of arts background or prior knowledge in
arts is the major one. Overall I am excited about taking this course this term and
am looking forward to learning as much as possible.
