8th Robokidz Challenge 2024 Game Rules

When to play?
The game duration of this online challenge will start from 1st July 2024 until 8th August 2024.
All videos submission must be submitted before 11:59pm 8th August 2024
What to build?
Build a creative robot that can cross the gap of 2 flat surfaces of same height level. No limit
on the size and weight of the robot. Participants can use paper, card board, satay stick, ice
cream stick, tape, and rubber band to build the robot if needed.
How to play?
1. The participants need to create the platform like as Figure 1 below, which consisting of
2 flat surfaces of same levels with the gaps in between. The distance of the gaps is
defined by the participants on how big gap he/she wants to challenge. Participants are
advised to use low table/platform, to prevent robot damage if falls.
2. Participants must put the ruler or any measurement scale that can show the distance
of the gap during the game running. Refer Figure 2 as example of the setup.
3. Start recording. The video must be set at landscape mode with ratio 16:9.
4. Put the whole robot at left side of the flat surface (labelled as Position A in Figure 1).
Robot is not started.
5. Reset the stopwatch to 0.00 seconds. Precision of timer: 0.01 seconds.
6. Start the stopwatch.
7. Switch on the robot and let the robot to cross the gaps autonomously.
8. Once the last part of the robot passes the gap and reach Position B, then the participants
can stop the stopwatch and robot.
9. The camera should zoom in to the ruler scale or stopwatch reading if needed.
10. All participants must wear blue e@Robotclub T-shirt during video recording (simple
introduction + robot action). Refer Figure 3 for example of presentation script.
11. The video recording must be done by participants themselves and send by email to
[email protected] before submission deadline. Participants’ info
such as name, centre, how far the gap achieved must be included in the subject/title
of the email. Refer Figure 4 for the example of the email submission. Only one
submission is allowed per participant.

How to win?
1. Participant's robot which is able to cross the gaps with bigger distance will be the winner
of the respective category.
2. In the event of the same point, the participants who complete the game with shorter
time will be the final winner.
3. In the event of same point and same timer, the earlier submission participants will be
the final winner.
When to know the WINNER?
1. The winner list will be announced by 31 August 2024 and awarded with the winning
medal. All participants will be entitled for participation certificate.
