Processing Questions:
1.What did you feel after watching the video?
2. What ideas can you draw from the video?
3. In what way can you relate your experiences from the video?

SWOT STATIONS

The facilitator will group the participants into three. All groups will do
the task in each station.
Activity
Station 1: SWOT it OUT
(35mins.)
Task: The group will accomplish the “SWOT” template and answer the
following question:

1. How did you identify the strength, weaknesses, opportunities and

threats? What are the key words or determining factors in identifying
strength, weakness, opportunities and threats?

Station 2: Analyze the SWOT

Task: The group will accomplish the SWOT Analyses template by providing
answers to the guide question

Station 3: Opt to Strategize

Task: The group will accomplish the Strategic Option template by providing
at least two strategic options based on their SWOT analyses in Station 2.
Analysis The facilitator asks the following questions:

(30mins.) 1. How did you feel while doing the activity?

2. What are the processes involved in coming up with strategic

options?

3. What are your considerations in providing strategic options?

Abstraction/ Do: The facilitator makes a short discussion on the key concepts

Generalization Say: Part of managing the emerging challenges and opportunities in school
that encourages equality and equity in addressing the needs of the
(40mins.) learners, school personnel and other stakeholders is providing strategic
options through SWOT analysis.

Do: Discuss on the Definition, Process and Importance of SWOT

Analysis

Say: SWOT analysis is a guideline for understanding the strengths,

weaknesses, opportunities, and threats relevant to your school. It helps you
see:
 Which areas need developing?
 Which areas are thriving?
 Which areas are stagnant?
 And which areas could ruin everything?

And SWOT analysis will help you understand your school’s

competitive advantage and minimize instability.

Do: Discuss on the process of providing strategic options based on

SWOT Analyses

Say: Strategic options are goal- oriented alternatives that organization has
towards external uncertain environment. The determination of these options
involves a thorough study of the organization’s strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities, and threats from the internal and external environments

Do: Discuss the topic Equality and Equity in Education

Say: Equity vs. Equality: Fairness vs. Sameness

In the simplest terms, equity refers to an idea of fairness, while equality

refers to an idea of sameness.

Equality = Sameness
Essentially, equality in education means that every school and its personnel
gets the same resources and opportunities. This could refer to the same
funding for all schools, the same quality of and abundance of materials and
facilities, and/or the same quality of instruction.

Equity = Fairness

Equity, though, means that every school/personnel gets the kind of

opportunities and resources they need depending on their specific situation

Application The facilitator instructs the participants to get the current ProMEDS and
School Dashboard and let them identify gaps either on access, quality or
(45mins.) governance. The participant will accomplish the Situational Analysis
Dashboard

Process Question

Say: What are your realizations in coming up with strategic options?

Concluding Do: Present the picture

Activity

(5mins.)

S
Say: Proper school management highlights and expands strengths. It
minimizes or even erases weaknesses. It allows the creation of
opportunities. And it identifies threats to prevent blow ups. It allows you to
understand the present and future situation of your school. And all it takes
to complete is time.
