2) A kite is flying at a height of 30 m from the ground. The length of the string from kite to the ground is 60 m.
Assuming that there is no slack in the string, find the angle of elevation of the kite at the ground.
3) The figure shows the observation of point C from point A. Find the angle of depression from point A.
4) The sum of n terms of an AP is 3n2 + 5n. Find the AP. Hence, find its 16th term.
5) AB and CD are respectively arcs of two concentric circles of radii 21 cm and 7 cm and center O (see figure). If
find the area of the shaded region.
6) Point P(x,4) lies on the line segment joining the points A(-5,8) and B(4,-10). Find the ratio in which P divide the
line segment AB. Also, find the value of x.
7) The length of the minute hand of the clock is 14cm.Find the area swept by the minute hand from 9:00 to 9:35.
8) The radius of the base of a cone is 5 cm and its height is 12 cm. Find its curved surface area.
9) A wooden article was made by scooping out a hemisphere from each end of a solid cylinder, as shown in Fig. If
the height of the cylinder is 10 cm, and its base is of radius 3.5 cm, find the total surface area of the article.
10) In fig., OACBO represents a quadrant of a circle of radius 7cm with centre at O.If OD=5cm, find the area of the
shaded region.
11) Determine the general term of an AP whose 7th term is -1 and 16th term is 17.
12) From the top of a building 15 m high, the angle of elevation of the top of a tower is found to be 30o . From the
bottom of the same building, the angle of elevation of the top of the tower is found to be 45o . Determine the
height of the tower and the distance between the tower and the building.
13) Find the sum of the integers between 100 and 200 that is not divisible by 9.
14) Find the coordinates of the point which divide the line segment joining A(2, -3) and B(-4, -6) into three equal
parts.
15) A round table cover has six equal designs as shown in the figure. If the radius of the cover is 28 cm, find the
cost of making the designs at the rate of Rs. 0.35 per cm2 . (U se √3 = 1.7)
16) A solid toy is in the form of a hemisphere surmounted by a right circular cone. The height of the cone is 3 cm
and the diameter of the base is 4 cm. Determine the volume of the solid toy. If a right circular cylinder
circumscribes the toy, then find the difference of the volumes of the cylinder and the toy [take, π = 3.14]
