Advertisement for the Post of One Research Associate and Two Junior Research
Fellow (JRF) on contract
Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the posts of One Research Associate (RA), Two
Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (all on contract) in the research project titled “Regional Center for
Geodesy (RCG) at MANIT Bhopal” funded by NRDMS, DST, Ministry of Science and Technology,
Govt. of India. The duly completed application on prescribed format along with copies of supporting
documents must reach to: Dr. S. K. Katiyar, Professor & Project PI, RCG-MANIT, Department of
Civil Engg., MANIT Bhopal (MP)-462003, on or before 18.07.2024. The applicants should write on
the envelope the post applied i.e. “Application for the post of RA/JRF (on contract) in the Project
“Regional Center for Geodesy (RCG) at MANIT Bhopal”. A soft copy of the application form
compressed with all qualifications documents should also be sent to Dr. S. K. Katiyar Professor &
Principal Investigator & Coordinator RCG, through email on email ID [email protected] with
copy to [email protected]. The position is purely temporary and will be governed by the
funding agency rules and service conditions of MANIT Bhopal.
(A) For JRF post:
Name of Position : Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
Number of Position : 02 (two)
Essential Qualifications : M. Tech. in Surveying and Geodesy/Geoinformatics/Geomatics
Engg./Remote Sensing & GIS or equivalent discipline from reputed
institute of recognized Board/institute.
GATE qualification in Civil Engg. (GATE paper code CE) or
Geomatics Engg. (GATE paper code GE) is mandatory.
Desirable Qualifications: Research experience in broad area of Geodetic science and familiarity
with the use of different geodetic instruments and GNSS data
processing software like TBC/GAMIT etc. Candidates having sound
knowledge of Geodesy will be given preference. Good mathematical
skills programming proficiency in one or more programming
languages such as Python.
Fellowship : 31,000/- pm (Consolidated) + 16% HRA
(Likely to be revised very soon by the funding agency)
Other Benefits: Candidate selected for the JRF may register for Ph.D. program of the Institute if
he/she meets the eligibility condition. Other facilities like leave etc. will be
provided as per applicable rules of the institute for the project staff.
Age Limit: 35 years as on the last date of application
Tenure of Appointment: Appointment will be made on contract basis up to the end of the project
i.e. 31st March 2025. If the funding agency extends the project duration
then the contract may be extended further on yearly basis after the
assessment of performance.
(B) For RA post:

or equivalent discipline from reputed institute of recognized

M. Tech. in Surveying and Geodesy /Geoinformatics/Geomatics
Engg. or equivalent discipline from reputed institute of recognized
Board/institute and after it minimum three years experience in
Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or
Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and
services. Also, at least one research paper publication in the Science
Citation Indexed (SCI) journal is essential.
GATE qualification in Civil Engg. (GATE paper code CE) or
Geomatics Engg. (GATE paper code GE) is mandatory.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidate must have prior research experience in the area of Geodetic
science and should be familiar with the modern instrumentation
related to Surveying & Geodesy/Geoinformatics and its data analysis.
Good mathematical skills programming proficiency in one or more
programming languages such as Python. Candidates having sound
knowledge of Geodesy will be given preference.
Fellowship : 47,000/- pm (Consolidated) + 16% HRA
(Likely to be revised very soon by the funding agency)
Other Benefits: Facilities like leave etc. will be provided as per applicable rules of the institute for
the project staff.
Age Limit : 40 years as on the last date of application
Tenure of Appointment: Appointment will be made on contract basis up to the end of the project
i.e. 31st March 2025. If the funding agency extends the project duration
then the contract may be extended further on yearly basis after the
assessment of performance.
Note:
1. The applicant will be responsible for the authenticity of information, other documents and

2. The Institute reserves the right to reject application at any time and consider candidates of
exceptional credentials without applications. Qualification and experience may be relaxed by
the Institute at any point of time for otherwise exceptional candidates.
3. Mere possessing the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate would be called
for Interview. The Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit and need of the project.
4. Shortlisted Candidates will be informed by e-mail about the interview dates. So, they must
provide their valid Email IDs in their applications.
5. Shortlisted candidates have to present themselves for the interview on the interview date with
updated CV and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/ certificates in support of their
academic qualifications.
6. Applicants in employment (private, government or any other organization) are required to submit
a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of interview.
7. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
8. A Candidate has to fulfill all the requirements of qualifications on the last date of the application
submission i.e. 18-07-2024.
9. Consideration will be done for the benefits to the reservation category such as SC/ST/OBC/PwD
or Female candidates etc., for the upper age limit relaxation, reservation etc. as per the applicable
rules of the Institute/Funding agency/Govt. of India.
