employees and employers.

Its flows/channels are -

supervisors to managers, managers to general managers, and
so on.

❖ Some such communication may include - employee

suggestions, their grievances, important feedbacks, market
reports, some requests for particular facilities, etc.

❖ It can take the form of emails, memos, reports, suggestion

❖ This is a peer-level communication; it happens among people
working at the same or equal level in the organization.

❖ It can be for exchanging information or discussing problems

among the departmental heads, or between one branch/project
head to another, and so on.

supporting, etc.

❖ The most common form of horizontal communication is the

committee meeting, held to discuss difficult issues and solve
them.

⮚ Diagonal/Cross-channel communication -
❖ This is the exchange of information among employees in
different worker levels, who are neither subordinate nor
superior directly, to one another.

❖ It can flow in all direction, involve many departments within one

organization.

❖ Some examples may be - a request to all employees for

updating information regarding their claim on tax exemption, or
when the H.R. department asks employees to complete a
job-satisfaction questionnaire, etc.
