Introductory Message
Welcome to TVL – ICT (Animation)!

The Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of the

Schools Division of Iloilo and DepEd Regional Office VI - Western Visayas through
the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is developed to
guide the learning facilitators (teachers, parents, and responsible adults) in helping
the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials aimed to

guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the
contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in
acquiring the lifelong learning skills, knowledge and attitudes for productivity and
employment.

For learning facilitator:

The TVL - ICT (Animation) Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the
teaching-learning activities specified in each Most Essential Learning Competency
(MELC) with minimal or no face-to-face encounter between you and learner. This will
be made available to the learners with the references/links to ease the independent
learning.

For the learner:

The TVL - ICT (Animation) Activity Sheet is developed to help you continue
learning even if you are not in school. This learning material provides you with
meaningful and engaging activities for independent learning. Being an active learner,
carefully read and understand the instructions then perform the activities and answer
the assessments. This will be returned to your facilitator on the agreed schedule.

Identify Requirements for Cleaned-Up Drawings in Actual Scene Folders

I. Learning Competency

LO 2. Produce clean-up drawings for actual scene folders (cartoon,

2.8 Apply software animation on clean-up drawings
2.8.1 Identify the different tools and parts of Animate CC
window
II. Background Information for Learners
In traditional animation, clean- up drawings are done completely using
animation lightbox and paper. Clean- up artist or assistant animators clean
each keyframe drawings manually. Nowadays, using the software that are
based on traditional animation and equipment available in the market, clean-
up drawings can be performed digitally. Examples of software used to clean-
up drawings are Adobe Animate CC, Adobe Photoshop, Toon Boom, and
many more.
In this lesson, we will learn about the Adobe Animate CC or formerly
known as Adobe flash. Animate CC is a multimedia authoring and computer
animation program developed by Adobe Systems. It is used to design vector
graphics and 2D animation for television series, websites, interactive projects,
and game development.

Directions / Instructions
Study the tools and Animate CC Workspace below and answer the
activity.

Getting to Know the Workspace

The Adobe Animate CC work area includes the command menus at
the top of the screen, and a variety of tools and panels for editing and adding
elements to your movie. By default, animate displays the menu bar,
Timeline, Stage, Tools panel, Properties panel, Edit bar, and a few other
panels.

The followings are the important parts of the workspace:

1) Timeline- used to organize and control the movie’s content by specifying
when each object appears on the stage. It allows users to draw or
insert object on different layers. It has a playhead that indicates which
frame is playing. The timeline is made up of individual units called
frames. In creating an animation, it requires two keyframes: the
starting keyframe and ending keyframe.

A keyframe is a frame in which you define a change to an

object’s properties for an animation or include ActionScript code to
control some aspect of your document. It shows on the timeline as a
solid circle. This means that there is content on the stage. The number
of frames between two keyframes determines the length of the
animation. By default, Animate speed set up is 24 fps (frame per
second).

PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 8
2) Stage- contains all objects that are seen by the viewer in the final
movie.
3) Panels- helps you view, organize, and change elements or object in a
file. It includes Properties Panel, Library Panel, Tools Panel, Actions
Panel, Color Panel, Swatches Panel, etc.
Library panel is a centralized location where you can view,
browse, add, delete, and organize symbols in much the same way as
you would move and edit files on your computer.
The library in an Animate document stores media asset that
you create in the Animate authoring environment or import to use in the
document.
4) Tools Panel- contains a set of tools used to draw and edit graphics and
text.
