Credibility Interview
1. Do you have a pen & paper to take notes at the end of the interview?
Ans: Say yes if you are at home, as the uni will give appointment of time and date of interview
make sure you are at a quite place with god internet connection and a proper system with
headphones and webcam.the interview will be via sky so try practice once how to attend skype
calls.
2. Why did you choose the course you have applied for?
Ans: You need to give a proper answer why this course has attracted and what is your
understanding about the course and how it will help, so read about the course and its benefits in
the university website so that you can make a proper answer.
3. They may ask how does this course relate to your previous studies? If the student has
previously completed a course (apparently) at the same level. ask why do you need
another qualification at this level?
Ans: IF your previous studies are relevant even if it is not still answer how and why you
think this chosen course will help your future.
4. What are your future plans? What is your expected income in future? (Does outlay vs
expected income make sense? Are plans clear and detailed? Be wary of vague plans such
as ‘start own business’. ‘entrepreneur’. ‘multinational/international organisation’. ‘family
business’ & ‘return to current job’ – all of these need further explanation)
Ans: Try prepare an answer, try to provide realistic answers and try to name some good
companies from India or global companies names which has good demand of your
chosen course carrier related .
5. How will this course help you in your future plans? What skills and knowledge do you
hope to learn on the course? Why is it worthwhile for you to spend so much money
studying in UK?
Ans: Prepare some 2 to 3 good points to answer each part of this question..
6. If the student is currently working, ask what is your current position? How much do you
currently earn?
Ans: if working or worked give info if not tell you were not working but if you have gap
since last studies then mention what were you doing or occqupied.
7. Ask about gap in studies here if relevant. Ensure this is consistent and there are no
discrepancies.
Ans: Describe if you have gap and what you were doing- example you can say your father has a
business and you were trying to help your father or brother as you wanted to gain practical
knowledge, if going for IT or other courses then tell them you were self learning some advance
courses to upgrade u r self or free lancing some web project.if you have more then 2 years gap
then better to provide some work experience and should have knowledge of the work nature.
8. Have you ever been refused a visa to any country before? Please tell me when it was and
the reason ?
Ans: if you never applied tell never applied, if you refused for USA/Australia visa then also tell
you dint applied any visa.
Ans: You need to know the exact course name, course content, campus it is offerd at and a good
info about the other campus if the university has and facilities and your faculty or department.
10. Could you tell me what modules you will study on this course? How will you be
assessed?
Ans: Prepare answers of each part of question, best if read and find more about the university ,
its achievements, its present status, facilities, every thing.
12. Why have you chose to study in the UK (not other country)? Cab they clearly
differentiate course options between UK, USA, Aus?
13. What is your tuition fee and the recommended living cost per month?
14. How will you fund your study in the UK, inclusing the cost of your studies,
accommodation etc.? If Parents then enquire about jobs – do they earn enough? How
many people are dependent on your sponsor’s income?
Ans: Tell that you wanted to return to India to find a good career, but in case you find an
opportunity to get some practical experience form UK before returning to India you will be
happy to gain such which will make you easy to find higher and better opportunities in India.
16. Are you applying with any dependants? What will they do in the UK? If they bringing a
child, what childcare arrangements have been made?
Ans: NO
18. Where do you plan to live during your studies? (Need accommodation plans, not just
which town…) How much will it cost? (Ensure student does not confuse accommodation
cost with recommended living Cost)
Mention the approx cost of accommodation rentals in Luton area is approxly 600 to 800 Pounds
a Month ( 150 to 200 Pounds a Week)
Try to brows and read about university accommodation facility on university website.you will
find perfect answers.
19. How will you travel form your accommodation to your place of study?
Ans: Find what are the local transport facility in and around the university location, try to find
what is the minimum cost or fairs.
