House Rules
In our house, our parents set rules because
those help us all get along better.
One time, my sister broke the rule about calling
home if she was going to be late. Dad got worried,
and Mama called many of my sister’s friends. When
my little sister saw how worried everyone was, she
started to cry. When the baby heard my sister cry, he
started crying too. Mama rushed to pick him up and
tripped on the rug. She hurt her leg.
Just then, my sister walked in. “I’m sorry,” my
sister said. “I was with Dani, and we took her dog for
a long walk. I didn’t realize how late it was.” When
she saw what happened, my sister was very sorry.
Now she never forgets to call.
