Chapter 2, Beast: The True Alpha!

“May I come in Ma’am”, Ruby asked politely standing outside Karna’s room.

“Yes, you may Ruby. So, what’s the matter?”, Vidisha allowed her to enter.

“Master Darsh will be joining us for dinner tonight miss. I guess, that’s not good news.”,
Ruby replied.

“No, it’s not.”, said Vidisha as she looked at Karna sleeping soundly on the bed, lying
next to her.

“You may excuse us, for now Ruby. Just get the car ready before 6’0. We’re still going.”,
She ordered Ruby, smiling, as she looked on Karna’s face. She totally had no idea what
he was going through as all she could see was him sleeping next to her, like a small
baby.

“She was what? 11 years old? And she paid the price with her life, just to save you. And
this girl, She… She will pay the price too. She’ll die by your hands Karna Stark. You’ll kill
her too, just like you killed you father, you mother. Just like you annihilated your whole
pack. She’ll die by your hands too. You’ll carry the burden of her death on your
shoulders, your whole life. You’ll never be as noble as you want to be, because you’re
not what you believe. You already are a monster, now embrace it.”, The blood wolf said
staring in Karna’s eyes, While Karna was locked in chains with wolfsbane plants around
it. The pain in itself was a lot but Karna was not to give in to his dark side.

“I’ll never… Never ever be what you say. You’ll see, I love her and I’ll protect her from
every danger, every threat that exists. We’ll be together, happy, forever. Life is not
always full of darkness, it’s full of light too, the prospective of a person is all that matters
towards life. My elders taught me that. As per Lois’s death, I’ve been carrying the burden
of her death all my life. Despite you being the reason, she died, I never blamed you
Rein.”

“My name is blood wolf, not Rein you little brat. Don’t call me that ever again. You, you
were the reason she died Karna. Face it, and as she was taken away, remember, this girl
will be gone too. You said you’ll protect her from all the dangers, but who will protect her
from you? She’s too weak to handle any of us three. She’ll die, if you two won’t kill her, I
will. And then, then You’ll know how it feels. Your father’s, your mother’s, your packs all
of their deaths are on you and so will be hers, just give in already let me take control.”,
The red wolf replied.

The chains binding Karna disappeared along with the red wolf, But Karna felt something
strange. He looked at his hands, soaked in blood, a yellow flashing wolf along with a blue
one lying down next to his feet, teers coming down from their eyes.

“Karna, son!”, the blue wolf said as Karna sat down, He knew it was his mom, his eyes
shed tears as well as he looked at her.
“You should have never been born, if you weren’t there in the first place, no one
would’ve been dead. If it was a choice that I had, either to give birth to you or save
Manva, I’d sacrifice you thousand times.”, the blue light disappeared and the wolves
slowly turned into skeletons.

The burning village was now a cemetery, listening all that from his own mother, Karna
took a step back, crying now he was already having trouble breathing.

Suddenly the other skeleton jumped in front of him, its eyes were glowing with fire.

“I had so many expectations from my son, they called me gods of the Skinwalkers, I
wanted my son to be better and more powerful than the gods. But look at you, pathetic.
Crying like a baby, this is not what I died for, this is not why your mother died for. The
people of our pack… No, the people of my pack, they didn’t die so you could be turned
into a savage beast who only destroys. You’re no son of mine Karna, You’re a disgrace on
name of the Starkks. You’re a Monster, A Very lethal one as you see all that you do
wrong in a way that it seems right. You killed an innocent little girl, who loved you. Just
like you killed everyone else who loved you before. And Vidisha will die, by your hands
Karna. She will die.”, The wolf said, as Karna was running back.

But the dream wasn’t yet ended, the cemetery turned into a Jungle and Karna found out
he couldn’t move. All he could do was stay firm and watch.

It was him and Vidisha smiling in the jungle near a camp fire, he saw the red wolf
howling from the other side. The howl, got her scared and she running to Karna, hugged
him. Karna put his hand on back of her head, “It’s alright B, you’re with me, you’re
safe.”, he said.

Smiling at him as she felt safe and loved Vidisha stood on his feet and kissed him,

Karna looking at all that knew It wasn’t going to end well was still smiling, but the fear of
what could he do to her, the pain was making his eyes wet.

All of the sudden, The Karna she was kissing, took her heart out and amazed as she was
by all this all she said was, “Why? But I loved you…”

Karna woke up, tears coming of his eyes he found her looking at him. “You’re here.
Thanks god, I love you a lot Vidisha. I’ll never let you go, I’ll protect you. Just never leave
me alone.”, He kissed on her forehead and hugged her.

“Okay”, Vidisha was surprised because Karna looked serious saying all that.

“Hey, whatever It was, it was just a bad dream, and I’ll never, never leave you alone”,
She comforted him saying that and kissed him.

After looking at each other for a while “It’s about time we move out, we have to attend
dinner too at my place.”, she said.

“Yeah, I completely forgot about that.”, Karna chuckled wiping his tears off his face.

“Ruby!”, Vidisha summoned her and Ruby was there in an instance.

“Get the car ready. We’re moving out now.”, She ordered her and “Sure, Miss”, Ruby
replied.

“Karna, get ready! Make sure you look good at least please.”, She told him.

“Aye Aye, Captain.”, Karna replied.

He washed his face, but after putting the new clothes on, he felt a little dizzy. He went in
front of the mirror, washed his face again. It was the red wolf, or a mere projectile of his
imagination that Karna knew.

“He’s too young to be dragged into all this mess, let alone be manipulated by you and
handle your mind games”, Arion said to The Red Wolf.

“No, he’s not. Also, don’t tell me you didn’t make it hard for Manva Starkk. Because I
know you made him go through a lot worse. Did you not? In fact, every beast who was
ever created, knows how much of a Savage creature you are, Arion. One of the very best
that ever existed.”, The Red Wolf replied.

“One of the very best, Huh? Still not the best. And look at me now, doesn’t matter what I
did to Manva, I’m Like this now. I did what I did, because It was what he wanted, He
wanted to be stronger. And also, I was easier to tame If I ever got out of their ‘control’ as
they said. We ended up being friends, He still was more powerful on his own to take me
heads on. You on the other hand are too much to handle already, you can’t be
controlled, you don’t listen. Too stubborn, the most stubborn beast I’ve ever seen and
just as much powerful and strong if not more.He for one, is just a kid who already have
suffered enough.”, Arion said.

“Ha. Don’t flatter me, And I’m not the stubborn one, don’t lie, Arion. The kid is something
else, He needs to be forged. Just like me, He needs to tap into his darkness, I know he’s
more powerful than his father and so do you. But still, he’s not as good as me. I want him
to give in. So, I can tell him all that he needs to know. I want him to know what it means
to be the best. All I want for him is to take what’s his”, The Red Wolf answered.

“Well, well… See, who’s lying now Verontas? Trying to steal his life, you are trying to
fool me now?”, Arion said.

“Verontas? I didn’t even remember that, I was once called that. Classic name, but again
there’s nothing that could go past your eyes, is there?”, said the red wolf. “Tell that to
the Urichas.”, Arion replied.

“Oh, I will, when I see one”, The Red wolf said again, as he jumped at Arion and their
friendly fight started.

Karna was ready, they got into the car but Karna felt eyes watching them, the car moved
out for Vidisha’s house and before they know it, they were half way there. Karna felt
something, the presence was gone. But after he was gone a little further, he saw the blue
tails. ‘Never got to see the face of the fox’s human form’, he thought.

But then he had a look over what was in front of his eyes, A grand mansion. ‘This is
where she lives?’, he couldn’t believe it.

“So that’s my house, it was built by my great grandfather as he was one of the founding
members of this city, making our family one of the founding families of Hansville.”,
Vidisha told Karna.

“Well, I was the richest kid in my village too if that counts.”, He said with a dumb face
and Ruby and Vidisha both laughed.

“What? I’m not lying.”, He said.

“You know you’re very cute when you say things like that”, Vidisha replied.

“Okay, then. how about a hug?”, he said and “No”, She replied.

He entered the mansion with her after a few minutes, so huge, He could easily fit 10
houses like his in there, or 15 maybe. She took him on the first floor, there were a lot of
big pictures hanging on the wall. He could easily see the big collection they had just by
looking at the room with the books, it was probably bigger than the library of whole
Nueva High.

He got inside her room, almost just as good as he saw on her online profile.

“Come, sit here.”, She asked him to sit on her bed as she went to her drawer and bought
out a picture book.

“That’s me when I was little, the second one? he was my best friend. And you see that
other kid? That’s Darsh. And that’s my mom, this is my dad.”, she kept showing him
photos as he was smiling looking them.

“This is when My mom and dad were married, they’re cute together, aren’t they?”, She
showed him one of the best photos in her album.

“Umm… Hmm…”, Karna agreed as he kissed her. He smiled a little but the sadness in his
eyes were clearly visible to Vidisha.

“Hey, what’s happened?”, She asked.

“Nothing.”, He replied with the same smile as he looked at her again.

“You know you can share anything with me, right?”, She said.

“Yes, I know”, He replied.

Karna’s eyes were still sad, and Vidisha had realized it probably was her mistake that
he’s sad now. She looked at him for a while and kissed him again, there was this different
feeling.

A sensation this time, one they never felt before, At least not like this. before they knew
it, their bodies were grinding against each other and they could feel each other’s bodies
heating up, they could hear each other’s heartbeats.

Breathing in and out, mouthwatering each other his chin on her head moved down slowly
to her ears then her neck. Their souls cried for each other as she bit her lower lips and
his hold on her waist grew stronger.
“You know your brother and uncle will kill me if they ever found out about this, right?”,
He said.

“Shhh… Don’t talk.”, She said.

‘Knock. Knock.’, they were interrupted by a knock on the door…

“Your Uncle is here, He have requested to see him.”, Ruby stood firm as she said that.

“Okay, let him know Karna will be there in a minute, I… actually was showing him the
family album.”, Vidisha replied but Ruby knew better.

“Sure” She said, as she left the room, smiling.

“Karna, Uncle wants to see you, and also, I need to change. So, go… We’ll talk, later…”,
Vidisha said.

Alziek was looking at a photo hung on wall, there were 5 people standing together in
front of a table.

“Do you know who they are son?”, He asked Karna as he noticed he was looking at the
photo too.

“No, Sir.”, Karna answered.

“They are the leaders of the 5 families that founded Hansville. Nueva Family of Royals,
The Silva Family, Vinshas family, Urichas Clan and The Family of Argents. The
one in the middle, that’s my grandfather Samuel Darsh Argent. Next to him are Wilson
Nueva and Swastika Uricha. My grandfather was strongest pillar in that community.
Darsh was named after him, strong and firm. As strong others were, no one dared to
speak against him because they knew they’ll be struck down once and for all. The Argent
Family kept the reputation, No one dared speak against us let alone get into a fist fight.
You, you not only got into a fight with an Argent but you endured his punch. Even after
that, you didn’t go down but you took him down in one punch. Just who are you?”, Alziek
asked Karna with a serious look, while Darsh was looking at them from the hall.

“My father was Manva Starkk, and he died along with my mother the when I was very
little. All I have in the name of Family is big brother Dhruva and elders of my village who
raised me. But as far as I know Urichas lives in Other part of the country like brother
Dhruva, but you said Urichas were involved when the town was built, that’s not possible”,
Karna answered him and at the same time asked a question to clear the doubt he had.

“Well, The Uricha clan’s history is complicated, late in 1980s some of the members were
removed from the original clan that lived in the other part of the city. They moved here
and very soon they had influence over lands and people around here. They said they
were the weakest of their clans, you being trained by original members of their clan
explains why you took Darsh down that easily.”, Alziek said.

“Sorry for the trouble, if it felt like interrogation. You are family now. It’s just I had some
questions, one’s that have been answered. But there are a few other things that I’d like
to discuss over dinner.”, He added as Vidisha joined them.

“So, what were you guys talking about?”, Vidisha asked curiously.

“Oh, I was just telling the young man the history of the town and Argent Family”, Alziek
said.

“If he threatens you, do let me know, okay?”, Vidisha said with a light laughter.
“I’ll never, never do that. Turns out our families in the past already have been in
connection. And I won’t hurt or threaten him until you are hurt by him.”, Alziek replied.

“Hurt her? that I can’t do. I love her a lot to even think something like that, and also I’m
too scared of her already sir!”, Karna said and they all laughed.

“I’ll leave you two some room for now, while I go and see the arrangement for the
dinner”, Alziek left for the dinner hall. Darsh came up from the hall, seeing him and
Vidisha smiling with his father was already too much for him. His father never
acknowledged him, he never looked happy when Darsh was around, Karna had made it
all worse just by being a part of his life. He took his sister, his father’s appreciation, his
reputation but still keeping it all to himself he moved to him and offered his hand for a
handshake.

Karna looked at him and “Darsh!”, He said.

“Karna!”, Darsh replied.

“I’m glad you’re well”, Karna said.

“I’m happy that you got Dad’s approval. But if I were you, I wouldn’t celebrate just yet.
With him there’s always a catch, something that others don’t normally see. Be careful,
won’t like to be struck down in a punch, will you?”, Darsh said after patting Karna’s
shoulders twice.

“No, I won’t. Thanks for the tip brother.”, Karna replied with a smile while Vidisha clearly
was a little uncomfortable, that even Darsh noticed and he left for the dinner hall, giving
them a smile. His eyes though, they were full of pain as if his soul was crying out for
help, but no one noticed that.

After a moment they were sitting on the table in the dinner hall, Dim light in the room
but the table was full of light, Alziek smiled looking at Karna and Vidisha sitting together.

“I’m glad that I can be here as people belonging to three of the founding families can be
here tonight. Before you guys ask any question, I want you all to meet the last heir to the
Nueva Family.”

Karna looked at Darsh, as Darsh was grinding his teeth. He looked at Karna and tilting his
head he indicated it was not good news.

From behind Darsh’s chair stepped out a young kid, almost just as young as Karna and
Darsh and smiled as Darsh was freaked out totally but still didn’t said a word or act out.

“Marc Nueva, He’ll be joining you three in class from tomorrow.”, Alziek added.

Karna was surprised as he didn’t even notice his presence while he was there.

“You were there all this time?”, Karna asked Marc.

“Indeed, I was”, Marc answered.

“Karna Starkk, nice to meet you Marc.”, Karna said.

“Hello Karna, Likewise It’s a pleasure and I’ve heard about you already. Quite a fighter
you are, will love to fight you some day”, Marc said.

“Sure thing, but it won’t be easy as you’re expecting.”, Karna said smiling.

“That’s what I’m counting on!”, Marc said as he smiled back.
