4. Unscrew the two knurled nuts and open the tube press block to
remove the five tubes from top to bottom. Take caution to protect the
pump tube from being scratched.
5. Install the new tubes from bottom to top. After installing each
pump tube, rotate the peristaltic pump roller at least 10 times to
ensure that the pump tubes are in their respective channels to avoid
pump tube intertwining.
Note: Make sure the direction of each tube is correct. Otherwise,
dispersion wash may fail. If the direction cannot be confirmed, refer
to other tubes that have not been removed.

The pump tube is

in arc shape during
installation.

After installing each

pump tube, rotate the
peristaltic pump roller by
hand at least 10 times.

6. After installing the new pump tubes, first tighten the inner knurled
nut and then the outer one to fix the tube press block.
Note: Do not tighten the two nuts simultaneously.
7. Power on the analyzer for final confirmation.
Note: Before replacing the pump tubes, pull the roller to check
whether it can rotate smoothly. If no, replace the dispersion aspirate
peristaltic pump assembly.
Check After replacing the tubes, test the flow to check if the dispersion
aspiration function is normal:
1. Prepare 4 empty cuvettes, marked with A1, A2, A3, A4
respectively. Use the calibrated pipette to add 1 ml pure water into
the 4 empty cuvettes, and place the 4 cuvettes on an empty cuvette
tray.
2. remove four aspirate probes A1~A4 and put them into four
cuvettes respectively. Make sure the probe tip reaches the bottom of
the cuvette and coincides with the axis of the cuvette without tilting.

3. Select Utility – Maintenance – Alignment – Fluidic Check and

Calibration – Flow Test – Continue.
4. Select Aspirate Volume, change the aspirate time from 7000ms to
5000ms, Click Start.

5. After the peristaltic pump stops, take out aspirate probes A1~A4,
use the 200ul pipette to measure the liquid volume in the marked
cuvettes A1~A4 and record the volume.
6. Calculate the aspirate flow of the A1~A4 aspirate probes
respectively.
Aspirate flow = (1000ul- remaining liquid volume in the cuvette after

Note: If the pipette cannot measure the volume accurately, a ruler
can be used.

7. After the flow test, install back the aspirate probes and other
components.

4.18 Cleaning the dispersion aspirating probes

Maintenance Item Cleaning the dispersion aspirating probes
Maintenance object The dispersion aspirate probes (4 probes in total A1/A2/A3/A4)
Causes for Aspirating needle contamination will result in carryover and
aspirating needle clogging will result in wash buffer residue, which
maintenance
will affect the test result. You should regularly replace the aspirating
needles.
Maintenance Remove the aspirate probes, wash and dry them, and then install
content them back.
Materials required Clean tissue, ethanol, deionized water or distilled water, probe
cleanser, beaker and dispersion probe cleaning tool (including
unclogging device and syringe)
Precautions 1. Wear gloves, and if necessary, goggles during the maintenance
process to avoid biological risks.
2. Caution to avoid probe puncture.
3. If the aspirate probe is bent or damaged, replace it immediately;
otherwise, unreliable results may be obtained.
4. Keep away from the probes and other moving parts to avoid
collision with them.
System status Incubation or Standby status
How to do 1. Confirm the probe detergent is sufficient and cuvettes can be
found in the cuvette tray.
2. Select Utility – Maintenance – Maintenance.
3.Click Dispersion Probe / Tube Maintenance - Execute. Then
the system resets the dispersion carousel automatically and the
gripper grips the four cuvettes from the cuvette tray to the dispense

positions on the dispersion carousel.
4. The engineer starts cleaning. Take A4 probe as example.
Unscrew the round nut of A4 aspirating needle on the aspirate board
counter-clockwise and lift it upward, and pull the aspirating needle
from the dispersion carousel. Do not bend or bump the probes.

5. Loosen counter-clockwise the quick joint on the dispersion

aspirate adapter board, lift it gently and disconnect the guide tube
from the press plate

6. Repeat step 4-5, take A1/A2/A3 Use gauze soaked in alcohol

needle, and use the unclogging device to clean its interior. After
exterior cleaning, connect the syringe tool (included in the
accessory kit) with the quick joint of the aspirating needle. Prepare a
beaker full of probe cleanser, immerge the other end of the probe
into the beaker, and push/pull the syringe plunger for over 10 times.
Lift the probe tip above the liquid level and discharge the liquid in the
tube and prepare another beaker filled with deionized water or
distilled water, immerge the probe tip into the liquid, pull the syringe
plunger to aspirate liquid, put the probe into another empty beaker
and push the syringe plunger to discharge the liquid. Repeat this
action for at least 10 times to clean the probe interior. After interior
cleaning, disconnect the probe assembly from the syringe
connector, swing the probe and tube to remove the liquid leftover,
and then use clean gauze (without scraps) to dry the probe exterior.
Please note that the tube is connected tight during the cleaning
process
7. Put the probe back: Take the clean aspirating needles and
put the probe back into the aspirate board. Take care during the
process to prevent the probe from colliding or scraping with other
accessories. Turn the round nut clockwise to lock the aspirating
needle. Gently lift the aspirating needle to check whether the
aspirating needle is smoothly rebounded automatically. Connect the
quick joint of the aspirating needle guide tube with the
corresponding joint on the dispersion aspirate adapter board. When
connecting them, press the joints gently and screw them clockwise
until the buckles of the joints are fastened and a click is heard.
Check whether the joint is fastened by shaking it gently. Fix the tube
onto the press plate and the black ring symbol on the tube should
align with the edge of the press plate.
8. Click [Finish], the gripper will throw the cuvettes, click the
[Exit] button to complete the maintenance.
Check The surface of the aspirate probes is free of dirt and crystals, and
shows metallic luster. Result of routine cleaning shows Pass,
