36. Puneet had some bananas, and he divided then into two lots A and B . He sold the first
lot at the rate of ₹2 for 3 bananas and the second lot at the rate of ₹1 per banana and
got a total of ₹400. If he had sold the first lot at the rate of ₹1 per banana and the
second lot at the rate of ₹4 per 5 bananas, his total collection would have been ₹460 .

Let us denote the number of bananas in first lot as x and the number of bananas in second y .
Answer the following questions

a) Form the pair of equations from the above situation

37. The school auditorium was to be constructed to accommodate at least 1500 people. The
chairs are to be placed in concentric circular arrangement in such a way that each
succeeding circular row has 10 seats more than the previous one.
a) If the first circular row has 30 seats, how many seats will be there in the 10th row?
b) For 1500 seats in the auditorium, how many rows need to be there?

If 1500 seats are to be arranged in the auditorium, how many seats are still left to
be put after 10th row?

c) If there were 17 rows in the auditorium, how many seats will be there in the
middle row?
38. Tharunya was thrilled to know that the football tournament is fixed with a monthly
timeframe from 20th July to 20th August 2024 and for the first time in the FIFA Women’s
World Cup’s history, two nations host in 10 venues. Her father felt that the game can be
better understood if the position of players is represented as points on a coordinate plane.

a) At an instance, the midfielders (A,B,D) and forward(C) formed a parallelogram.


Find the position of the central midfielder (D) if the position of other players who
formed the parallelogram are :- A(1,2), B(4,3) and C(6,6)
b) Check if the Goal keeper G(-3,5), Sweeper H(3,1) and Wing-back K(0,3) fall on a
same straight line.

Check whether the Full-back J(5,-3) and centre-back I(-4,6) are equidistant from
Forward C(0,1) and if C is the mid-point of IJ
c) If Defensive midfielder A(1,4), Attacking midfielder B(2,-3) and Striker E(a,b) lie
on the same straight line and B is equidistant from A and E, find the position of E.
