In this list, the noun is formed by adding –ation, -ition, ution or –ication to the verb.
Note the comments preceding each group.
To form the first five nouns, -ation is added directly to the verb without change.
To form the following nouns, the final –e of de verb is dropped and –ation is added
To form the following nouns, the final –e of de verb is dropped and –ition is added
The following verbs all end in –fy or –ly. To form the noun, the –y is changed to –i
and –cation is added.
