technology department for the support and encouragement to achieve the project.
We are very much pleasured for the guidance and support by HOD, IT and Staff
to make the project successful.
This Service project enabled us to know problems that are faced in real time in
our own village which we are not focusing.
We are extremely pleasured that by this survey we have created the solutions to
the problems that the people are facing.
With valuable suggestions and support from all we sure that our endeavors face

PART-A
INTRODUCTION

1. DISCUSSION ON SELECTING THE TOPIC

We as a group gathered together and went to the concerned project mentor and
discussed on the selection of the topic from the list of the possible project ideas given in
the Community Service Project Guidelines by JNTUK and picked AWARENESS ON
CYBER SECURITY as it seemed interesting and exciting to work on Community Service
Project is an experiential learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service
with instruction, participation, learning and community development. It involves students
in community development and service activities and applies the experience to personal
and academic development. It is a social activity performed by a person or a group of
people for the benefit and betterment of their community without any form of
compensation. This project helps the students to define their values, experience empathy,
develop social skills & learn about their community.

Mentor allotment & team formation is as per the instructions given by the project
coordinator. Later, we had an interaction session between our team & the mentor, as an
outcome we made an action plan. Our action plan suggests us to visit a school , thus we
decided to visit ZPH School, vatluru ,which is near by .

3.DATA COLLECTION USING PRESCRIBED FORMATS

We had collected some information from the student about their knowledge about
cyber security through a survey. We created a total of 20 questions and divided into 2
forms about cyber security and gave each form to each student, alternatively.

4. PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION AND ANALYSIS

Community Awareness is generally defined as knowledge created through interaction
between community people and its environment, a setting bounded in space and time. As
per the survey the major problems that are common in the community areAs part of our
community service project, our team surveyed students from High school. During the
analysis of survey we identified few problems.

LACK OF KNOWLEDGE
Many students are still not aware of the necessary analysis at this time. They don’t
know simple basic solutions and don’t have the knowledge about what to do when a
problem arise. All they know is how to use the phone for entertainment and they don’t
know the safety measures.

UNNECESSARY USAGE

They don’t why they are using phone they just using for entertainment like playing
games and giving permission to unwanted and dangerous apps which may put their
personal information at risk.

LACK OF GUIDANCE

Another big problem is there is proper guidance for them to know which is a threat to
them and which is not. They don’t know that there information is leaking out without
their knowledge and even parents had every minimized knowledge about it.

INFLUENCE FROM OTHERS

Students are getting influenced and leaking their personal information just by
clicking allow in their device . This causes a huge problem and measures are also
tough to take for these type of problems

5. ACTION PLAN FOR POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

For the problems identified from the previous chapter we created an action plan to
solve the problem.
ACTION PLAN
The short-term action plan describes what the community wants to achieve
1. What activities are required during a specific time period
2. What resources (money, materials and people) are needed to be successful
3. This should become a framework for implementing the activities by the
community itself.

As a part of community service project, we conducted an awareness program on

CYBER SECURITY, which comes under the process of sharing knowledge about the
CYBER CRIMES AND THEIR PREVENTIONS which are useful for the students for
the purpose of further need. We also explained them some of the real time threats, by
using PPT. We got permission from Head Master of the ZPH School, Pedhapadu,Eluru.

6. CONDUCTION OF AWARENESS PROGRAM

Community Awareness is generally defined as knowledge created through interaction
between community people and its environment, a setting bounded in space and time. It
involves states of knowledge as well as dynamic process of perception and action. It is the
knowledge that must be maintained and kept updated to complete some tasks in the
environment. Community Awareness generation is considered as core element of successful
disaster risk reduction.
We conducted an awareness program about cyber security at ZPH School, Pedhapadu,
Eluru as part of Community Service Project. The importance of this awareness programme is
to create awareness to Cyber Crimes and its preventions. We handled various sessions and
created awareness among the student community.

PART-B
INTRODUCTION TO CYBER SECURITY

Cybercrime or a computer-oriented crime is a crime that includes a computer and a

network. Cybercrime is the use of a computer as a weapon for committing crimes such
as committing fraud, identity theft, or breaching privacy. Cybercrime, especially
through the Internet, has grown in importance as the computer has become central to
every field like commerce, entertainment, and government. Cybercrime may endanger
a person or a nation’s security and financial health. Cybercrime encloses a wide range
of activities, but these can generally be divided into two categories:
1.Crimes that aim at computer networks or devices. These types of crimes involve different
threats (like virus, bugs etc.) and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.
2.Crimes that use computer networks to commit other criminal activities. These types
of crimes include cyber stalking, financial fraud or identity theft.

7. POSSIBLE CYBER SECURITY THREATS

• Cyber Terrorism
• Cyber Extortion
• Cyber Warfare
• Internet Fraud
• Cyber Stalking
• Cyber Defamation
• Cyber Theft
• Cyber Bullying
• Spyware
• Malware
• Virus Attacks
• Web Jacking
• Phishing
• Trojan Horses
• DDoS Attacks
• Eavesdropping
• Ransomware
• SQL Injections
• Botnets

8. SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEMS

Based on the Survey conducted among the students, it has been concluded that they
lack the knowledge of the major problem with the advanced technology and its adverse
affects. It is absolute need to educate them in the area of the Cyber Security. After few
interactive sessions with the students, and through thorough discussion among our group
along with the mentor, we have decided to make an awareness program to the students to
provide them with the required knowledge of Cyber Security consisting of both the Cyber
Crimes and their Prevention.

9. IMPLEMENTATION
The real problem posed was during the implementation of the scheduled action plan of
awareness program. The major worry was about how to convey the knowledge to the growing
students. Neither they were the grown minds who can understand complex data nor were the
children to be left uneducated in this area. With the opines of the team members and through
the suggestions of our mentor and the school Head Master, a Power Point Presentation was
made to picturise the data and present it beautifully to the students, so that they can understand
the data as well as enjoy the program throughout it.

PART-C

CONCLUSION

Our team performed a survey in ZPH School, pedhapadu, vatluru, Eluru as part of the
community service project to offer the students with the information of CYBER
SECURITY. We found the students curious and enthusiastic during our campaign,
which made our job easier and also raised the excitement in us to deliver the
information through various means of communication. We took a couple of minutes,
with the permission of the Head Master, to discuss the importance of Cyber Security
with the children and made our observations.
We displayed them a Power Point Presentation about the various Cyber Crimes,
Challenges to the Cyber Security, and also the most possible Prevention methods. We
also addressed the questions posed by the students. To keep a track of the daily
activities and the action plan, we maintained a log book, which got signed by the
mentor every day.
