To determine your assigned industry, use the last two digits of your student ID, divide by 4, and
use the remainder. The remainder corresponds to one of business types listed above. If you do
not choose the assigned industry, your assignment will not be marked.

For example, you have the last 2 digits in your student IDs are 25. 25 = 6 x 4 +1, so the remainder
is 1. Food and Beverage is the assigned industry for you. The list of the assigned industry has
been uploaded on Moodle.

Your responsibility is to perform a strategic analysis of the chosen company, using a number of concepts
and analytical tools/frameworks in business strategy. You are requested to write a report to:

1. Briefly introduce the company of your choice (<300 words)


1.1. Briefly describe the status and historical background (e.g., temporal milestones) of the chosen
company.
1.2. Explain the statements concerning vision, missions, strategic goals/objectives, and philosophy/
values of the chosen company.

2. Analyse the impact and influence that the macro environment has on an organisation and its

2.1. Applying appropriate analytical framework (e.g., PESTEL) to underlies key characteristics of
each sub-environment influencing the company’s business performance based on reliable
sources of data and information. Focus on a few characteristics that you consider being critical
