Food Tray Table

Issue (E170/E175/E190/E195)
• Elite Pax Seat Food Tray Tables (PN41191074-XXX) cracks on top surface

Visible crack on the top side (LH/RH) of the tray – pivot assembly

This information is property of Embraer and cannot be used or reproduced without written permission.
Food Tray Table

Immediate action
• SIL 41190000-25-61 (Elite Food Tray Tables)
• Visible cracks until 1.25 inches can remain in service

Investigation
• Shop findings analysis
• All returned trays shows cracks at the same location
• A gap is created between the bonded aluminum block and top support rib (plastic skin)
• This gap creates a concentrated stress area initiating the crack

This information is property of Embraer and cannot be used or reproduced without written permission.
Food Tray Table

Investigation (Cont’d)
• Production line assy
• Injection molding parameter
• Mold tool includes sharp corner that creates potential failure points
• Inappropriate cleaners can degrade the plastic material

Test Set-Up
