Site Safety Rules
1. All new employees at site must attend Safety Induction training, prior to commencing any works on site.
2. No person is allowed inside the project site fence without a visitor card or employee identification card.
3. Being a visitor on the project, you are not allowed to do any physical work activity.
4. Always obey any lawful instructions given by your host, In-charge or the HSE Department.
5. Visitors and unauthorized employees are not allowed to take any photos of the site. If necessary, to
take photos, you must obtain written approval from the Project Director / Manager.
6. Site Security and safety personnel have the right to search any vehicle or person entering or exiting the
project in order to protect our employees and company’s assets.
7. No weapons of any kind, drugs or Illegal material are allowed within project premises.
8. Any employee, subcontractor or visitor found to be leaving rubbish or waste materials, including water
bottles, oil containers, rubber tires or any other waste will be required to remove all such items along
with a verbal / written warning and any repeat offenders will be fined up to 1000 SR depends upon on
the violation.
9. All Plant/ equipment and operators must be 3 rd party certified (if required) and to undergo an inspection
and receive approval from the HSE Dept. before entering at the project / worksite.
10. All vehicles & drivers must be having valid required documents (Fahs, Insurance, Driving License,
Iqama etc.) and to undergo an inspection and receive approval from the HSE Dept. before entering at
the project / worksite.
11. All drivers / operators must follow Saudi traffic rules & site safety rules related to traffic.
12. Never use any plant/ equipment unless you have received training and permission from HSE Dept.
13. Do not use a cellphone whilst driving, working, or operating any machinery.
14. Use designated access routes and do not take short cuts.
15. Do not travel hanging on moving equipment, inside vehicle lowbed or mobile working platforms.
16. Failure to adhere to the site safety / traffic rules may cause immediate removal from the project
and action will be taken as per Company’s Disciplinary procedure.
17. Before starting lifting activities permit to work shall be obtained. Crane, operator and lifting gears
shall be 3rd party certified. Certified rigger shall be assigned. Taglines shall be used to control the load.
Crane radius area shall be properly barricaded along with installation of required safety sign ages.
Unauthorized entries shall be restricted. Close supervision & Safety coverage shall be provided to
ensure safe lifting operation.
18. Prior to start any new operation/ activity, a Job site inspection must be conducted along with HSE.
19. Do not use any damaged or defective tools, equipment. Report it to your immediate supervisor or
member of the HSE Department to exclude it from the work site (if needed).
20. Do not use unsafe, unsecured ladders/ stepladders. Always maintain 3-point contact & don’t stay
on last 3 rungs.
21. Do not work on ladders or step ladders adjacent to an open edge or opening.
22. Do not alter or remove any ladders, scaffolds, guardrails unless you are trained & instructed by a
Supervisor/ Engineer.
23. Do not climb a scaffold unless permit to work is available and scaffolding is tagged “Green” and
safe to do so.
24. Do not perform work at height until you are trained competent and authorized for work at height.
25. Always use Full Body Harness with a double land yard secured to a suitable anchor point.
26. Do not attempt to make any repairs to machines, electrical cables, appliances, or equipment. Call
the authorized (qualified) Electrician, mechanic or refer the damage to your Engineer/Supervisor.
27. All electrical / power tools & appliances must be inspected prior to use by a competent electrical
technician.
28. Damage, defective tools equipment and unsafe electrical appliances shall be immediately excluded
from the work site.
29. Do not use equipment / machinery that have missing safety guards.
30. Check all tools, equipment and required PPEs prior to start the job.
31. Do not enter danger areas and do not cross barriers until you are permitted.
32. Do not enter any lift shafts or confined space unless authorized to do so and permit to work /entry
is issued.
33. Do not eat, drink or urine at or around work site, always use welfare facilities.
34. Do not abuse or fight with anyone, do not Misconduct/ horseplay at work site.
35. Do not take rest or sleep at worksite / restricted areas / near dangerous structure or heavy
equipment operating areas.
36. Take rest and eat food in designated rest / eating areas only.
37. Smoking is not allowed in any area of the site or offices except in designated smoking areas. Use
the ash trays and bins provided in the smoking area.
38. Wear the minimum PPE requirements while on site, these are, safety helmet, safety shoes, safety
goggles and reflective safety vest. Your task RAMS should identify further PPEs required to be worn.
39. Replace any damage / broken PPE with new one from the store after submitting the older one.
40. Do not mistreat the site welfare facilities and always maintain good housekeeping.
41. Always follow PERMIT TO WORK system, Company’s policies, procedures, and instructions.
42. All chemical shall be kept in the designated chemical store only. SDS shall be provided and
communicated to the involved crew. Only necessary quantity shall be takeout from the store. Only
trained persons will be assigned to deal with the chemicals and chemical related PPEs must be provided
and worn by the involved crew.
43. Cylinders will be stored in a safe, dry, well-ventilated place prepared and reserved for that
purpose. Flammable substances such as oil and volatile liquids or corrosive substances should not be
stored in the same area. Oxygen cylinders and flammable gas cylinders shall be stored separately, at
least 6.6 meters (20 feet) apart or separated by a fireproof, 1.6 meters (5 feet) high partition.
44. Remove all flammable, combustible material out from nearby hot work areas.
45. Ensure that suitable & sufficient numbers of Fire Extinguishers along with trained fire watch are
provided for hot work activities.
46. All excavations must be protected with hard barriers. Slopping, benching, shoring shall be applied
to prevent collapse / cave in. Appropriate access egress shall be provided to and from excavations.
47. In the event of an emergency make your way to the nearest Assembly point area as sign posted. If
you need any guidance regarding emergency procedure, ask your Supervisor / HSE dept.
48. Report all the incident/accident, near misses, unsafe acts or unsafe condition to your Supervisor /
Engineer and HSE Dept. to take necessary action and prevent reoccurrence.
49. Always keep your working areas neat & clean. Arrange all material properly, and do the necessary
housekeeping at least 15 minutes before start / finish your work.
50. Every person working in the project has a statutory duty to take reasonable care for health and
safety of themselves and others are not affected by their actions or omissions at work and every person
is empowered to intervene and stop unsafe works (Maramer OSH Plan).
NOTE: If you are not aware of any site HSE rules, please ask your Engineer/ Supervisor or HSE team.
