1- CUSTOMER COMPLAINT

Maintenance and service (2000 Hrs)

2- DETAILS OF FAILURE INCLUDING CONSEQUENTLY DAMAGE

Genset is overdue for Topend Overhauling.


Advised customer to please follow CAT recommended preventive maintenance schedule for safe operation.

3- BRIEF DETAILS OF REPAIR METHOD

1- Visited site genset found stopped as standby.


2- Carried out walk around inspection, started for warmup & saved ET parameters.
3- Stopped genset & performed 2000 hrs PMS as per CAT specs.
4- Removed tappet covers & ignition Transformers.
5- Checked/adjusted valve Bridges,valve lash & HLA settings of all intake and exhaust valves as per CAT specs.
6- Recorded valve recession of all intake and exhaust valves.
7- Inpected engine air intake & exhaust system found satisfactory.
08- Cleaned main alternator, breathers & inspected couplings (generator + PMG) found normal.
09- Greased ( CAT Grease) main alternator both end bearings.
*Electrical Activity*
10- Checked Exciter stator- rotor Gap up. 0.036", Dn. 0.029", L. 0.035", R. 0.037".
11-Perform Insulation Resistance test of main stator(250V): 740 M ohm (30 sec) and 1724M ohm (60sec).
12-Checked ignition transformers resistance found 35K ohm. Cleaned with contact cleaner.
13- Checked/cleaned all harnesses and connectors found ok.
14- Checked/cleaned bus bar, CT condition, and connection wire.
15- Checked rectifier assembly found ok.
16- Checked control breakers and wire condition found ok.
17- Checked starting motor connection, SMR, and SMR fuses found ok.
18- After completed all jobs, the genset tested only offload due to load unavailability found normal parameters.
19- Nox sensor couldn't be calibrated due to load unavailability.

Please rectify the parameters issue on Enercon HMI after last flasfile activity by AESL.
We will share load data as load available in couple of days.
