Procedures:

● The researchers shall give the informed consent prior to the experiment. There will be no
deception involved in this experiment therefore all information shall be stated unto the
consent.
● There shall be a debriefing before the experiment and instructions will also be given to
the participants. This is to clarify all questions that the participants have before
proceeding with the study.

(First Group- A1)


● A1 will be given a set of numbers which they shall try to memorize in five (5) minutes.
● After five (5) minutes, they will be given two (2) minutes to write down the numbers they
recall- in a consecutive manner. They will pass the papers when the time is over.
● This first group of the sample population will watch a video with a euphoric theme for five
(5) minutes. The researchers shall see to it that the participants are not writing anywhere
else to remember the set of numbers.
● When the video is over, the participants will be given another five (5) minutes to
memorize the same set of given numbers.
● In two (2) minutes after memorizing, the participants shall write down the numbers that
they recall to see if they have memorized the numbers better when they watch the video.

(Second Group- A2)


● A2 will be given a set of numbers which they shall try to memorize in five (5) minutes.
● After five (5) minutes, they will be given two (2) minutes to write down the numbers they
recall- in a consecutive manner. They will pass the papers when the time is over.
● This group of the sample population will watch a video with a melancholic theme for five
(5) minutes. The researchers shall see to it that the participants are not writing anywhere
else to remember the set of numbers.
● When the video is over, the participants will be given another five (5) minutes to
memorize the same set of given numbers.
● In two (2) minutes after memorizing, the participants shall write down the numbers that
they recall to see if they have memorized the numbers better when they watch the video.

(Third Group- A3)


● A2 will be given a set of numbers which they shall try to memorize in five (5) minutes.
● After five (5) minutes, they will be given two (2) minutes to write down the numbers they
recall- in a consecutive manner. They will pass the papers when the time is over.
● This last group of the sample population will watch a video with a horror theme for five
(5) minutes. The researchers shall see to it that the participants are not writing anywhere
else to remember the set of numbers.
● When the video is over, the participants will be given another five (5) minutes to
memorize the same set of given numbers.
● In two (2) minutes after memorizing, the participants shall write down the numbers that
they recall to see if they have memorized the numbers better when they watched no
video at all.
● There will be a debriefing after the experiment to know if the participants are still okay
and to assure them that they could still withdraw their data if they do not wish to proceed
with the experiment.
● The researchers shall tally the scores and look for the average or mean of each group of
sample population to compare and see which method works best for analytical memory
recall.
