Christ The Way Summaries
Christ The Way Summaries
JANUARY
The gospel of Jesus Christ began by the birth of john the Baptist son of the Elizabeth and
Zachariah. John the Baptist is the messenger talked about in Old Testament prophecy to say I
will send a messenger to prepare the way. He is the messenger who came to prepare a way for
the lord. The birth of John the Baptist was kind of similar to that of Jesus in that they were
foretold by angel but what happened to Zachariah after receiving the announcement was
surprising. He was the lord’s messenger, he was human but the lord was spirit and came in
human form with divine and human nature.
John the Baptist warned people about the coming of the messiah and his kingdom. He challenged
people to repent because the kingdom of God is near meaning the coming of Christ was near and
Christ came with the kingdom those who believed were baptized with water and he said to mean
Christ the one who comes after the will baptize you with the holy spirit.
Signs of the coming of the messiah would be known by reading or studying scriptures. Christ
was coming for his people the Jews, these were supposed to prepare to receive their king, pay
attention to events pointing to his coming and time he would come. But these Jews, high priests
and scribes focused on building their nation and saving it from the romans they forsook the word
of God. They were busy in sin prepared not to receive their king the spirit of prophecy says
because of their unbelief and pride; the lord bypassed them and gave the light to those like the
eastern magi and the shepherds who gave need to light they received through scriptures about the
coming of the king of the Jews. He shows to the eastern magi a sign in the altar and angel to the
shepherds that led them to place where he was born. He was born in manger because there was
no place prepared for him amongst his people for which he came.
The devil through King Herod tried to eliminate Christ the king of the Jews because it was said
he would be great but God provided an escape for him and God was with him each as he was
growing John the Baptist prophecy was fulfilled he preached saying the kingdom of God and
when Christ came he fulfilled Johns wad. He said the kingdom is at hand or within you. He
brought the kingdom of God by serving free from all kind of affliction of which people will be
free in God’s kingdom no sickness, no death.
John 1:1-4 Jesus is the word and John was sent to bear witness. He (John the Baptist) was sent by
God to bear witness of the light which gives light to even a man that comes into the world, Jesus
the word became flesh by being born of Mary and Joseph, he dwelt among us and held the glory
of the begotten son of the father full of grace and truth.
FEBRUARY
John prepared the way for the Lord by preaching the baptism of repentance in the wilderness of
Judea. He warned people to repent for the kingdom was at hand and he baptized many people.
The scripture was fulfilled as Jesus from Nazareth of galilee was baptized by John the Baptist
and three things happened to prove that Jesus was Holy and sent from God.
Those who were present at the baptism saw and heard for themselves that Jesus is God’s only
dear son in whom God is well pleased after the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus in form of a dove of
all people who were baptized by john there has never been anyone whom after coming out of
water such thing happened except Jesus alone.
This should have been evidence enough from the beginning that Jesus was the son of God to
those who saw and those who were told by the ones who were present at his baptism.
If they were really expecting the messiah those people would have paid attention and obey what
John spoke to them before Christ came.
Now that they rejected John’s teaching they didn’t believe when they were told that messiah has
come and failed to believe that he is the one but instead they rejected him.
The only way they would have known the events and coming of the messiah was by studying the
scriptures.
From the temptation of Jesus, we learn that we need to know the word of God by heart in as
much as we pray because when Jesus did so, God gave him the Holy Spirit even more to be with
him.
If we don’t read the scriptures it will we be very ease for someone to lie to us and even quote
wrong scriptures just to defend their evil doings or teachings and we will believe because we
don’t read and don’t know the scriptures.
People forgot the purpose of going to the temple and turned the temple into a market place and
Jesus was not happy when he learnt of it and whipped them. Even us we need to take the temple
as a house of prayer and not a business place.
Baptism is the way to salvation, Jesus and John demonstrated what baptism is to us and we need
to receive that baptism for us to receive the Holy Spirit, power to conquer sin, have salvation and
eternal life.
MARCH
The baptism of John was the same as that of Christ. One must be baptized with water and the
holy spirit. As Christians we have an example of baptism from Christ and John who got baptized
by immersion.
From the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well we learn that God is Spirit and
we must worship him as he really is, in truth and Spirit. We need to receive God’s Spirit and
truth only then will we know him and worship him.
Jesus came preaching that the kingdom of God is within you that is because people received
manifestation of power of the kingdom, the blind received their sight, the lame could walk, the
deaf could here and many forgiven of their sins.
The scriptures tell us that in heaven there will be no sickness, problems, disasters, death and sin
but good health and life eternal. We are privileged to this life in his kingdom because he gave us
power to do more than what he did and his disciples who were human beings like us believed
and performed miracles as Jesus did.
The scriptures tell us that it was Jesus’s custom to go the synagogue on the sabbath. When Jesus
was young he used to spend much of his time in the temple and when he began to preach it
became a custom to go and teach.
People followed him they went to the synagogue to learn and worship and thank God their
creator. He is the example we need to follow as his disciples of this time or generation.
The spirit of God was upon Christ Jesus that is why he was determined in doing God’s will when
he came to this earth if we receive God’s spirit we too will be determined to do God’s will. The
great commission which Christ left us with.
Meeting on sabbaths to learn from God’s word and it will help us understand the scriptures more
and better than we can when we read them alone at home.
Jesus showed wisdom and knowledge that is divine in his way of teaching, preaching and
responding to questions really amazed people that were with him and believed that he can’t be
compared with any man.
But this displeased his enemy the devil and he used the pharisees, chief priest and scribes go
against his teaching and even to kill to bring an end to the spread of the of the gospel of Christ
and his disciples but the work of the gospel continued and many people believed in the teaching
of Christ and followed him.
APRIL.
Jesus was and is all powerful such that even demons could feel his presence and recognize him
as son of the highest God and tremble at his feet, this shows how Holy Spirit can do to us when it
is within us.
Jesus gave us this power that demons shall obey us too if only we believe in him and obey his
commandments.
Jesus was and is still able to heal all kinds of diseases. No one was taken to Jesus and returned
the same.
Jesus was able to read through the minds of people so it is even now. He knows our thoughts and
whatever we speak from inside, our levels of faith and he says all things are possible to those
who believe. He can do all things, he never fails and will never fail us.
Through all his good works Jesus faced a lot of opposition, tribulation and was accused of
blasphemy but because he is Holy and righteous he did not curse any of them that persecuted
him.
We need to follow his footsteps and obey his commandments, when he sends us to proclaim the
good news which is the gospel of salvation through Christ’s death.
We need not to fear but humble ourselves to God and he will give us what to say when teaching
or sharing the gospel.
We will also face opposition even more but if we shouldn’t be scared instead to stand and remain
firm and he will keep us and be with us till the end.
Jesus associated with all kinds of people regardless of their class, there was no segregation in
him. He rejected no one whether evil, good, rich or poor.
This should be our attitude on this earth then people will see Christ in us and they will desire to
follow and know him.
Christ looked and showed no hatred to those who persecuted him or rejected him and his
teaching. He was humble to all people all the way to his death.
We need to sacrifice our time and resources for work of God. If we want to follow Christ then
we leave everything and follow after all he provides for our needs. The work of God must not
suffer because we hate other things to do.
MAY
The centurion had complete faith in Jesus’ power to do anything such that he believes that just
by Jesus’ command his servant would be healed wherever he was.
This is the kind of faith that we need to have. It surprised Jesus that the people who were
supposed to have such faith in him did not have but an out east who had just heard about Jesus
had faith in him.
Jesus referred to us who know his gospel as his children but if we don’t believe in him we will
not inherit his kingdom but those outsiders who will inherit the kingdom of God.
Jesus healed the demon possessed boy, restored sight to the blind and made the mute to speak.
Some of the people who saw what he did, still didn’t believe that he was messiah, the devil took
advantage of their doubts and using the Pharisees he said Jesus drove out demons using the
powers from Beelzebub a god, at the time others were convinced the devil came to deceive those
who did not believe.
This is how much the devil tried to win people’s hearts and thoughts to himself but the devil does
such and we follow his voice we will be at danger of offending the Holy Spirit and may lose the
chance to repent. Jesus said if we offend the Holy Spirit we cannot be forgiven.
We are called Jesus’ brothers and sisters only if we hear his word that he speaks to us through
Bible reading revelation and lessons at church and obey all that is true and said about Jesus, apart
from being his brothers we will also be sons and daughters of God because Jesus is the son of
God.
We have every reason and evidence enough to believe that Jesus is truly the son of god that is
through his good works and we read to say even demons trembled at his feet as they recognized
him as the son of god.
We need to have faith in Jesus alone because he is the son of god, we need not to seek help of
any kind from demons or other things because they are not powerful to stand before god and
their help comes with consequences we trust in god who is powerful that even demons obey him
and will give us the perfect help we need as he did to those who went to him.
We follow Christ we are children of his kingdom and if we are children of his kingdom we have
the powers of the kingdom that is above all powers.
JUNE
God is able to do all things, Jesus is God that’s why he was able to feed five thousand people
with five loafs of bread and two fish.
He used his divine power and the food was made enough for all that some of it was left. Jesus
asked God to bless the little food and when he blessed it, it became more.
If we can have the faith of Jesus we will not see anything to be shared with people around us.
After feeding the multitude Jesus went to the mountain to pray. What he did was something that
can’t be easily done, it was a miracle but after Jesus did the miracle he didn’t remain with the
multitude instead he went to pray.
This example teaches us that we have to be giving thanks to God after we have done something
in life we must always first pray after an achievement or any success instead of just seeking
praise from people.
When peter believed that it was Jesus walking on water, he asked Christ if he could walk also
and he walked on water too but before he reached he started doubting and he began to sink.
This is what also happens with us if we believe that God will do something God will surely do it
but when we doubt him we fall into temptation of consulting idols, and magicians which need
not to do as Christians.
We need to honor God with our hearts and not regarding and teaching the commandments of
men as doctrines, we need to worship our God in truth and spirit always.
Jesus performed miracles were there was great need. He did not use his healing powers to show
off that is why he refused to perform a miracle for the multitude when they asked him for a
miracle, they had many signs for them to believe if they wanted to.
John, James and peter are true and eyes witness of Jesus Christ being the true son of God as they
heard the voice declaring and saw at the transfiguration that Jesus really sent from heaven by
God the father.
JULY
We should always remember and be thankful to God for goodness and mercy upon our lives. We
need not to forget how all problems end before celebrating that they have ended.
We need to recognize the one who brings our problems to an end unlike the 9 lappers who didn’t
return to say thank you lord for healing us. we should be like that 1 lapper who returned to say
thank you to Jesus.
God has commanded us to do good to others because we have been commanded, this means it is
our duty to do good all the time and we need to be said of being helpful because we are fulfilling
our duty.
What Jesus meant when he said the kingdom of God is within you to the pharisees is that they
had kingdom of God because his power was being manifested and the characteristics of life in
the kingdom of God was observed or seen by many amongst them is the healing of sick casting
out demons restoring sight to the blind, the lame able to walk.
In the kingdom of God there is free life from sickness and all the problems.
Tax collectors asked Jesus to pay tax of which he was not supposed to pay but because he did not
to offend them he had to pay.
The lesson I find here is that I need not to retaliate when treated unfairly in life for the sake of
peace and not arousing people’s anger or offending them. There’s need to remain humble and
obedient to avoid arguments.
Plucking out the eye that causes you to sin means avoiding thing that may tempt us or lead to sin,
so that we do not miss heaven because of such things.
We need to watch that we are not found wanting in sin or causing others to sin, we must not
despise the ones among us who are like little children and if any of us wants to be the greatest he
or she must be a servant of all.
It is God’s wish that not even a single soul should perish, those who will perish will perish
because of their own disobedience not because God wants them to perish.
We need to settle our differences secretly as the bible clearly states following those steps. We
must forgive others as God has forgiven us.
If our brother sins its not our duty to judge them or celebrate that God will punish them instead
show them the right way, we and them belong to God he alone.
AUGUST
From the story of a good Samaritan we learn that we need to be kind to all kinds of people in
society despite us belonging to different clans, tribes and classes or any social or economic
status, we need to be like that good Samaritan.
The disciples thought they could cast out demons because their prayed, unfortunately they failed
but wondered how Jesus managed to cast out demons they failed to. The lesson we get here is
that some things or problems needs not only prayers but fasting also.
From the parable of the rich young man, we learn that our lives and times are in God’s hands, we
need not to worry because he knows our needs, he knows how to keep us going. We need to trust
in him and be concerned about his kingdom also.
There are consequences in disobeying God’s word, we must pray that we are not or become the
devil’s tool to bring others down in their Christian life.
Concerning being rich and being part of the kingdom, we have a lesson from Jesus’s response to
the man who asked him what to do for him to be saved.
If we will want to be wealth it will be hard for us to have time for God and we may miss heaven
as he clearly said it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.
From the story of Lazarus’s death and being raised by Jesus we learn that Jesus deliberately
delayed to go and see him so as to make people believe that he had power over death. When we
call on him he hears and know the best time to grant us our requests.
The Jewish leaders focused on doing other things and securing their nation from hands of the
romans instead of focusing on studying the signs of the time their savior’s coming.
They didn’t prepare for his coming and did not know when was coming and when he came his
own rejected him and received by others, the same will happen the at time of the second coming
of Christ.
SEPTEMBER
Jesus came to this earth as a humble Messiah. He never came to show that he is rich or can do
anything if wishes because he is all powerful.
He never came wearing expensive garments as people expected but he just came riding a horse
entering Jerusalem but still received as a king by the people of Jerusalem and Judea.
He came for people of all classes rich and poor. He came in a way that the poor could not fear to
approach him and the rich would not disassociate themselves from him. His main purpose was to
bring salvation for all kinds and classes of people.
The time Jesus was going back to Jerusalem with his disciples in the morning he commanded the
fig tree to wither in presence of his disciples to show them and the as who read the story how
much power we have to do things if we can have faith in God. With God all things are possible
and God we always give us what we ask for in prayer if we carefully obey his law and delight in
his ways.
I have also learned that the house of God is a house of prayers. We should never make it a place
of merchandise. It is a house where we must worship God from, a house were people find
comfort and healing.
If we reflect the Lord's messengers the prophets in Jesus Christ his son as the Jews did we, would
have disobeyed God and we his own for not accepting his messengers shall not inherit his
Kingdom its shall be given to others instead who do not even deserve it like was given the
families when the Jews affected his good news of salvation.
From Jesus’s response to questions asked by Jews, scribes and all those plotted against him,
there is so much wisdom which supposed all kinds of wisdom. This signifies that Jesus was
really sent from heaven by God the father.
When we give our offerings to God they are only accepted if we give willfully and whole
heatedly. It does not matter how much we give what matters is the way and reason why we give
Jesus spoke a warning against rejecting his words which is the light and life eternal while we are
still not yet in darkness a before darkness comes our way.
OCTOBER
Jesus compared the kingdom of God to the parable of the parable of the ten virgins who took
their lamps to meet their bride groom and the parable of the man travelling to a far country,
trusting his servants each according to his ability.
From this we learn that we must always be sober in our Christian life and use every opportunity
we have to live to the standards of salvation because we don’t know when Christ shall come.
From the Lord’s supper and foot washing ordinances we see Jesus exercising humility and do
what he taught his disciples to do.
Jesus was troubled in his heart about his death. He knew who was going to betray him but he
tolerated his betrayer Judas at the table during the Lord’s supper and just prayed to God the
father to take his will about what was going to happen for the sake of peace. We too when we are
betrayed by our friends or relatives we need to kneel down and pray to God and ask God to help
us in such times.
We need to maintain peace at all times, when Jesus’s spirit was sorrowful he spent much of his
time praying and encouraged his disciples to pray for themselves and for him.
We too need to spend much time in prayer and encourage our brethren in Christ to pray for us in
times of sorrow and all the time.
The prayer life of Jesus on this earth teaches us how we need to live as his followers. We need to
believe in Jesus and connect ourselves to him through prayer.
So much love that can’t be explained for the human race is seen in Jesus by enduring the
suffering and death just for us not to die in sin. Christ doesn’t desire to see anyone perish and for
this reason we need to realize how much he did for us and accept his gift of salvation to us
through his death on the cross.
We must ask God to help us try our best in striving for perfection so that we should attain the gift
of salvation through Christ’s death.
NOVEMBER
Jesus’s persecutions and death were a fulfilment of God’s word through the prophets of the old
testament. Jesus and the father are one meaning Jesus was aware of the times and events about
his death.
He knew that he was going to be betrayed and be left alone by his disciples but he allowed God’s
will to be done and did this to the interest of man. He delighted in seeing man live instead of
dying.
The disciples did not understand what Jesus said to them about his death. They love his company
and thought he said about them would not happen, they would not leave him alone but it had to
happen as Jesus said to them, they could not control or stop the event from happening because
God said it should happen through the prophets.
This is mean to us that what God has said no one can change it. God’s word will always have it
way in our lives.
Because of battle that has been there from the beginning that is between good and evil. Satan has
always been making efforts to turn people against God.
There has to be so much deception from the devil but God sent his son Jesus Christ who is the
way, truth and life to show people the way to the truth of God but the devil still try to prevent
truth from teaching the people, the devil used the high priests, pharisees and scribes not to accept
the teaching of Jesus and his disciples, they turned against the truth and persecuted Jesus, plotted
against him to prevent him from teaching the truth of God to people.
But God still protect his work in Jesus through the multitudes Jesus taught and those he set free
from their afflictions.
God’s will be done through Jesus. He healed people, raised the dead to life and preach about the
kingdom of God to the poor and showed us the way to God.
Christ had his mission accomplished in this earth despite facing opposition from the scribes,
chief priests and pharisees and some of the Jews who turned against the gospel.
Many people received the good news and accepted it despite the chief rulers’ efforts to barn the
good news from being preached to the people. As prophecy said he will die to save mankind
from dying for eternity.
DECEMBER.
The events that took place at the death of Jesus Christ that is the darkness, the tearing of the veil
brought great fear to those who were guarding his body and everyone who was there.
This showed to them and proved that Jesus was righteous, Holy and innocent. These happenings
made them believe that Jesus was really a son God sent from heaven.
Christ died for the human race to be saved and we accept that he died to set us free from our sins
if we believe. Such events have never recorded at the death of anyone but Christ alone this
means that Christ is divine and not a mere man.
His death is the only one with terrifying events.
As he said he was going to rise again on the third day Christ rose and he was seen by his
disciples, Mary and many others.
This means Christ overcame death so that even us for whom he died for should have hope after
the grave. The devil was defeated in Christ’s death and resurrection meaning we who Christ died
for follow his ways by having power to overcome and we will always overcome if we remain in
him.
The devil tried to prevent the truth or hide the truth from people by creating a lie through the
chief priest by paying the guards who reported to them that he has resurrected not to tell the
people that he resurrected but say his disciples stole his body while the guards were asleep.
But those efforts were in vein because Jesus was seen by many and many who saw him spread
the news about his resurrection and they were happy and continue to spread his gospel.
Jesus was also seeing ascending to heaven by his disciples at galilee when he called to meet them
and left them with great commission of preaching the gospel to all people which it is also our
commission because we are the disciples of this present time.
