INTRODUCTION
GENERAL INFORMATION
SECURITY FEATURES
In addition to Secure Boot, Run-time integrity checks, and Trusted Platform Module (TPM),
the new devices have been enhanced with added Security.
• Allow Listing is an anti-malware measure that manages the list of programs that are previously
allowed to run and prevents programs that are not on the list from running. Even if malware enters the
device, it will not be executed. The Allow List capability can prevent not only known malware but also
unknown malware from compromising the device.
• PDF Digital Signature allows you to add a digital signature to a scanned PDF document. You can
obtain the same effect on an electronic document as a seal, signature, etc. An electronic certificate is a
certificate issued by a recognized authority that certifies that "This digital signature is the formal
signature of a real organization and person.". Recipients of electronic documents can verify that the PDF
document has not been forged or altered by verifying that the digital signature matches the digital
certificate. (Feature N/A at initial product launch - Future Firmware Update required)
• TLS 1.3 supports the latest encryption network protocol for more higher security communication. This
is the highest level of communication protocol (successor to SSL) which is a faster, safer and more
secure method of cryptography that encrypts data by providing secure communication between web
browsers and servers. IP-based protocols, such as HTTPS, SMTP, POP3, FTP support TLS to encrypt
data. Web browsers utilize a TLS certificate (also more commonly referred to as SSL) to help them
recognize that it belongs to a digitally signed certificate authority
• Hard Drive Overwrite The data security function can be erased by overwriting seven times.
Compatible with US “DoD 5220.22 M ECE standard” and Germany “BSI/VSITR standard.
• SIEM (Security Information and Event Management sends a security event log to an external
SIEM server using the Syslog protocol. By using this protocol, a user can monitor unauthorized access
or leakage of confidential information by a malicious operation.
• OCSP/CRL (Online Certificate Status Protocol/ Certificate Revocation List Settings) OCSP/CRL
settings can verify the validity of certificates used in encrypted communications
• Secure Boot performs a comprehensive check to ensure Firmware, LINUX and Java platforms are at
100% integrity during start up.
• Run-time Integrity checks are performed periodically to ensure the Firmware, including the Java
Platform has not been compromised during the operation of the MFP.
• Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a security chip set that applies a Cipher Key on the Kyocera Data
Security Kit for an additional layer of protection for HyPAS applications, Address book, Logs, Image
data, Document box and User lists.

PRODUCT CONFIGURATOR
PRODUCT CONFIGURATION
Wi-Fi direct
2.4GHz band: 1~11ch fixed
5GHz band: W52
At setup, it is necessary to set the Model and Brand of the device your customer has purchased from the
device Operation Panel. This can simply be done through the current Licensing system you normally use for
any Business Application or Hardware Option located at MyKyocera > Technical Support > Tools and
Resources.
When the device is powered up for the first time, a License Key Input Screen will display.
If your customer purchases the Base Model, at setup, select “Lower Model” and the “Brand”, nothing else
is required.
If your customer purchases the Higher Speed model, a License Key is required by purchasing the UG-36
Option. The Product ID will be emailed to your dealership. The License Key can be generated on MyKyocera
using the current License Activation System in the normal manner as any Business Application or Hardware
Option that require license activation at the device. Input the License Key and the Brand on the Panel.
Important Note: This procedure must be performed at each device at setup and cannot be
changed once setup. The Speed License Upgrade Process is NOT reversible!
6. After the Device Reboots, continue with the normal setup procedure.
7. Print a Status page and confirm the model and speed are correct.

3. Enter the 6-digit Brand Code and press OK. If the Brand Code is correct, the process proceeds to the
License Key input screen.
If the Brand Code is incorrect, the user is notified that the Brand Code is incorrect and returns to the
License Selection screen.
4. If the Brand code is correct the next screen will ask you to Enter License Key and press Activate.
If the License Key is correct, a "Processing…. Please wait" message appears and the device will restart.
If the License Key is incorrect, the activation failure is displayed, and you are returned to the License
Selection screen.
Batch Activation Speed License Upgrade Setup Procedure for Multiple Devices
This procedure can be used if you have multiple devices at one location to help speed the installation process.
The devices can be automatically activated using the USB Flash drive to register the Lower Model and/or
Higher speed model.
Kyocera has developed a new URL for the Batch Licensing System for this new series of devices.
The link below is available located at MyKyocera > Technical Support > Tools and Resources.
The following procedure will explain How to register multiple licenses at one time and export the license Keys
as a csv file to a USB Flash drive.
A txt file must be created in Notepad for the Copystar brand to be automatically set. This .txt file will need to
be placed on the USB Flash Drive along with the csv file.
• If the device is TASKalfa, the brand will automatically be set. No Brand code .txt is
necessary
• If the device is Copystar, create a text file and input the Brand once, 999999.
• Name the file” Brandcode.txt”. Copy the text file to the USB Flash drive.
If there is a device to be installed without the need to upgrade the speed, enter the serial numbers of the
device in column A in the csv file and save the file.
The Serial numbers you list in the .CSV file for the 4004i models will automatically be registered as that
model when you insert the USB Flash drive. Follow the procedure on the next page.
4004i Serial #
• A Speed License Product Code and License Key are not required for this model.

1. After the machine is powered on, the License Selection screen appears.
2. Insert the USB Flash drive into the MFP and press "Enter License Key".
3. Activation starts.
4. If successful, "Processing…Please wait" is displayed and the device is powered off.
5. If it fails, it reports that the Brand Code or License Key is incorrect, and then the device powers off.
6. Remove the USB, power up the device and Print a Status page. Confirm the correct model and brand
are registered.
(Important)
The TASKalfa brand automatically registers as the default when updating without a Brand Code text file on
the USB Flash drive.
Once the Brand Code is fixed, it cannot be changed with a USB flash drive.
If you need to change the brand after registering it in Maintenance Mode U265.
