Answers:

Question 1:

The throughput of the communication medium can be calculated using the formula:

Throughput = Bandwidth / Capacity of Each Frame

Given:

 Bandwidth = 50 Mbps (50,000,000 bits per second)

 The Capacity of Each Frame = 250 bits

Substitute these values into the formula:

Throughput = 50,000,000 bits per second / 250 bits

Simplify the expression:

Throughput = 200,000 frames per second

Now, to find the throughput per day, use the following conversion:

Throughput per day=Throughput × 60 × 60 × 24

Substitute the calculated throughput value:

Throughput per day = 200,000 frames / second × 60 × 60 × 24

Calculate the result:

Throughput per day = 17,280,000,000 frames per day

Therefore, the throughput of the communication medium is 17,280,000,000 frames per day.

Question 2:

Given:

 Bandwidth = 3 Mbps (3,000,000 bits per second)

 Propagation Delay = 10 seconds

Communication channel (3Mbps bandwidth)
Explanation:

The propagation delay diagram illustrates the communication link between Sender (Ahmad) and Receiver

(Mohammad). The key details are as follows:

 The bandwidth of the channel is 3 Mbps.

 The propagation delay is 10 seconds.

The diagram itself is described as a straightforward line, representing the 10-second delay between the Sender

(Ahmad) and Receiver (Mohammad). This implies that it takes 10 seconds for data to traverse the communication

link from the sender to the receiver.

In a propagation delay diagram, the delay is often depicted as a linear line to show the time it takes for signals to

propagate through the medium (Liang et al., 2023). In this case, the 10-second delay is visually represented in the

diagram, emphasizing the time it takes for the signal to travel from the sender to the receiver.

As a network engineer, understanding propagation delay is crucial for optimizing communication performance and

ensuring timely and efficient data transmission in network systems.

Question 3:

As a network engineer tasked with creating a communication Link Layer Switch Model based on the provided

port numbers and IP addresses:

Communication Link Layer Switch Model:

Port Number IP Address

7 86:4A:34:76:84:67

8 86:4A:34:76:84:76

Explanation:

The communications Link Layer Switch Model is a device that connects multiple devices on a network. The

switch learns the MAC addresses of the connected devices and uses this information to forward data packets to the

correct destination (Yuan & Tan, 2021).
