Installing the Driver for MCP and MCP 2 Plotters

This document gives instruction on how to install the driver for your MCP or MCP 2 plotter using the
“psetup” install package.

The package consists of:

- A Folder “Psetup_...”, which contains


- The program “psetup.exe” ,
- Other files and folders needed by the setup program

You have received this package on a CD-ROM, together with a new machine or have downloaded the
package as a packed file from the internet. If you have downloaded this file, be sure to unpack the
package and store it locally on your PC.

The driver is compatible with the windows versions 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.

Before starting the installation, please read the detailed instructions corresponding to the operating
system of your PC.

1. Installation under Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10

1. Connect your plotter to your computer and turn on the power (recommended).

2. Open the Folder “Psetup” and start the program “psetup.exe”.

If you have not signed in as an administrator, you will be prompted for an administrator
account and password.

A window named “Device Diver Installation Wizard” will appear.


Click on “next” to begin the driver installation.
3. You will be asked to confirm that you want to install this driver software. In the message
window, the publisher of the driver software (EK-Team Elektronik- und Kunststofftechnik
GmbH) is displayed. Press “Install” to confirm.
To suppress this message in future installations, first activate the checkbox
“Always trust software from ‘EK-Team Elektronik- und Kunststofftech…’ “

4. Click on the “Finish” button to complete the driver pre-installing process.

5. If you have not switched on your plotter yet, it is best to do it now.


Windows will then complete the driver installation automatically.

If you do not switch on your plotter now, the driver installation will
be completed on first use.
2. Installing the driver under older operating systems

1. Windows VISTA.

The Installation procedure under Vista is exactly the same as under Windows 7.
With some older installations of Vista, however, the publisher of the driver
software will not be recognized by the system. Then, following message appears:

In this case, click on “Install this driver software anyway”.


2. Windows XP

1. Connect your plotter to your computer but please leave the device switched
off.

2. Sign in as an administrator. Open the Folder “Psetup” and start the program
“psetup.exe”

3. A message window will remind you to keep the plotter switched off. Click on “OK” to
start the pre- installation.

4. During the installation of the plotter software the message “The software you are
installing… has not passed Windows Logo testing...” appears.
Click on “Continue Anyway”.

5. When the pre- installation is finished, you will be notified that you can now connect
and switch on your plotting or engraving device. Acknowledge with “OK”.
6. Ensure that the plotter is connected to your to your computer and switch it on.

The “Found New Hardware Wizard” starts. When asked „Can windows connect to
Windows Update to search for the software?“, choose “No, not this time“.

7. When asked “What do you want the wizard to do?” Choose


“Install the software automatically (Recommended)”.
8. When the message “The software you are installing… has not passed Windows
Logo testing...” appears, click on “Continue Anyway”.

9. Click on the “Finish” button to complete the driver installation.

The plotter can now be used. You can sign in with your user account.
3. Windows 2000

1. Connect your plotter to your computer but please leave the device switched
off.

2. Sign in as an administrator. Open the Folder “Psetup” and start the program
“psetup.exe”

3. A message window will remind you to keep the plotter switched off. Click on “OK” to
start the pre- installation.

4. During the installation of the plotter software the message window


“Digital signature not found” appears.

Answer the question “Do you want to continue the installation?” with “Yes”.
5. When the pre- installation is finished, you will be notified that you can now connect
and switch on your plotting or engraving device. Acknowledge with “OK”.

6. Ensure that the plotter is connected to your to your computer and switch it on.

7. The message window “Digital signature not found” will appear again.
Answer with “Yes”.

The plotter can now be used. You can sign in with your normal user account.
