ABSTRACT

Job preference and job skills are important to help a person to be able to find

and have a path for their future. This paper focused on the comparison between Job

Preference and Job Skills of Senior High School Students in Calbayog City National

High School. The researcher used quantitative as their research design, researcher-

made questionnaire were used as the main tool to gather the data. The researcher

distributed 60 survey questionnaires, 15 questionnaires where distributed to the 4

academic strand of CCNHS. The study reveals that there is a comparison of students

job preferences and job skills. The result of data analysis shows that there is a

significant relationship in terms of the alignment of their preferences to their skills, the

data also shows that the respondents are in favor of becoming an entrepreneur. The

students lean towards entrepreneurship. While students’ shows good skills when it

comes to technical and interpersonal, the most common problem encountered by the

students are in terms of their communication and analytical skills. Given the students’

data in their job preferences and skills, it may be concluded that they have a higher

likelihood of becoming entrepreneurs and possess strong technical and interpersonal

abilities and still need to work on their communication and analytical skill. This study

focused on the Job Preferences and Job Skills of the SHS students that can help them

for their future goals and future career. The output for this study is conducting a

seminar discussing about entrepreneurship and how to become an entrepreneur. The

seminar will also highlight the importance of analytical skill on this job.

II. PROJECT RATIONALE

Project Overview:
The seminar is made to enlighten students by equipping them with

enough knowledge about being an entrepreneur. The seminar aims to

provide guidance and knowledge because it is very important for students

to have enough knowledge about entrepreneur as it will help them shape

their future.

To enlighten students and equip them with enough knowledge, the

seminar will conduct a discussion about what is entrepreneurship and how

to become an entrepreneur. Through this discussion, students will gain

insights about their job preference after college.

In addition to the discussions about entrepreneurship, the seminar

will also focus on the skills of students in terms of technical, interpersonal

and communication, as skills plays a crucial role in securing employment

and achieving goals in chosen fields. There is also a separate discussion

about the importance of analytical skill and how to improve students’

analytical skill.

The seminar will benefit students that is planning to be an

entrepreneur before entering to college or after college. Understanding

entrepreneurship and developing their skills as early as possible will guide

students as it serves as a roadmap to a brighter future.
