What do you mean by Personality?

Meaning of Personality:
• The term personality is derived from the Latin word
persona, which means mask.
• For a layperson, personality generally refers to the
physical or external appearance of an individual.
• For example, when we find someone ‘good-looking’, we
often assume that the person also has a charming
personality.
• Rather than looking at parts of the person, personality
looks at some aggregate whole that is greater than the
sum of the parts. In psychological terms, personality
refers to our characteristic ways of responding to

how people think, behave and reacts towards the
situation. It is not individual looks physically.
