Derivative of Implicit Equations

An implicit equation is a relation of the form 𝑓(𝑥, 𝑦) = 0 where is a function of several variables. An
implicit function is a function that is defined implicitly by an implicit equation by associating one of the
variables with the others.

Rule of Implicit Differentiation

Differentiate each term of the equation 𝑓(𝑥, 𝑦) = 0 with respect to 𝑥, considering 𝑦 to be a function of
𝑥.
