THE POWER OF PARTNERSHIPS: COLLABORATING FOR CHANGE WITH PEHCHAAN THE

STREET SCHOOL

It is a well known fact that every planning, idea or thought requires resources, or support for
its successful execution. When someone tries to bring positive changes in the society, it is
the responsibility of the society to support such people. Support can be in any form,
admiration, motivation, participation, gratification, financial assistance or even, direct
engagement. There are several Non-profit Organizations which are engaged in
philanthropic and altruistic activities to improve the lives of people through education,
healthcare facilities, awareness or financial assistance, leading to the betterment of the
society as a whole. These organizations work dedicatedly to ensure that no person, due to
lack of opportunities, finances, or support, is devoid of basic amenities in the society. One
such organization is Pehchaan The Street School, a non-profit organization and volunteer-
led community. This organization has been working continuously for the upliftment of
underprivileged children through education.

Initially in 2015, Pehchaan The Street School began only with 2 to 3 students. Later on, with
their sheer determination, hard work and perseverance they managed to accommodate
more and more children as time passed. Also seeing upon the positive impact in that child
growth parents were motivated to send their children to Pehchaan The Street School.
Currently, Pahchaan The Street School is providing free and quality education to more than
1500 students. As it is a volunteer-based community, more than 600 volunteers work daily
with the aim to bring a positive impact in the society while providing education to under
privileged children improving their present and securing their future. In the present
scenario they are operating 10 centers in Delhi and NCR, with more than 1500 actives.

Moreover, Pehchaan The Street School also provide life skills vocational training and
practical learning to the underprivileged children leading to their holistic development.
Besides it, the organization takes a step ahead by providing financial assistance and
scholarship opportunities to the students, helping them secure admissions in primary
secondary or higher studies.

Apart from education to underprivileged children, the volunteers at Pehchaan The Street
School also engage with people through their community outreach programs. They have
helped spreading awareness regarding various issues. The organization offers free legal
advice, financial literacy, menstrual hygiene, and free medical checkups facilities.

Furthermore, Pehchaan The Street School, in collaborations with various organizations has
successfully managed make festivals even more happier for the people belonging to
underprivileged sections of the society. For instance, this Diwali Pehchaan The Street
School distributed a happiness kits consisting of some useful and playful items to
numerous underprivileged children, bringing smiles to their faces.

All of this could have not achieved without collaborations with other organizations, and
foundations. These collaborations acted as support to Pehchaan The Street School in their
path of philanthropy. Sponsoring for events and festival celebrations which will help in
raising awareness about the mission and attract more and more supporters furthermore,
companies can come up and actively help in organizing health and counseling campaigns
or vocational and career counseling camps that will provide vital services to the
underprivileged children and their families.

Collaborations between corporations, influencers, and non-profit organisations are really


helpful in respect to good causes, and get attention and support in a time when social
media is incredibly powerful. The relationship between Pehchaan The Street School and
other influencers who have taken it upon themselves to foster the cause of education for
underprivileged children is one such collaboration that illustrates the power of digital
advocacy. This wave of partnerships was commenced by many social media influencers.
Recently, Riddhi Kumar, who has a large Instagram following, in a heartfelt video post asked
her fans to invest in the education of underprivileged children. Her post had this potent
message: “Every child contributes to the advancement of both their community and nation
as an eventual citizen. Investing in a child’s future is an investment in the future of the
nation and the community”. Social media has been an effective tool for networking, and
providing opportunity for everyone. It has created an unimaginable global connectivity,
reaching to the entire world, even beyond the man-made borders. Organizations, brands,
and businesses are tremendously benefiting from the power of social media for connecting
with millions of potential people. The collaborations between brands and NGOs can be
very effective, not only to them, but to general public as well. Over the years, these
collaborations have lead to significant positive results, making the huge impacts in the
society.

For instance, ‘The Pehchaan Ki Diwali’ initiative in collaboration with various organizations,
was instrumental in making the Diwali of underprivileged children even more special.
Similarly, Pearlpet India is a brand for kitchenware and houseware goods. All sort of kitchen
equipment to house supplies to make life more convenient, and organized are provided by
them. They recently collaborated with Pehchaan The Street School and distributed their
goodies hamper to the students. The hamper consisted of lunch boxes and bottles, so that
they can carry these items to their schools, for packing their lunch and filling water. This
collaboration was part of the Diwali celebrations for the children of Pehchaan The Street
School, and through this, the organization got introduced to not only Pearlpet India
products but also the audience and consumers, making the cause reach many more
hearts.

Yumzmum is a festival gifting, wedding, corporate, birthday, and many more event-
appropriate gifting brand. They gifted students of Pehchaan The Street School some of their
chocolate hampers, and the children were very delighted to receive the chocolates as their
Diwali presents, and this opportunity introduced both Yumzmum and Pehchaan The Street
School to each other, and related communities. The organization’s cause reached many
more connected people.

Mapayah is an another home décor brand that sells beautiful pieces to make houses look
elegant and energized positively. They collaborated with Pehchaan The Street School and
sent some beautiful towels for the volunteers working on the ground teaching the students.
The collaboration gave an incredible opportunity to reach out to both brand and
organization community, and relevant person, leading to mutual benefits.

Narang caterers is a catering service company based in Gurgaon. They were refreshment
sponsors at Pehchaan Ki Diwali by Pehchaan The Street School and distributed among 400
meal boxes to the students of the organization at the Indrapastha center. The students
enjoyed the delicacies and variety of the food items in their meal boxes. The collaboration
gave an amazing opportunity to connect and get exposure to each other’s audience. On
one hand, the community of Pehchaan The Street School got the knowledge of a good
catering service of Narang caterers; on the other hand, the children at Pehchaan The Street
School were very much delighted to get offered with delicacies as a part of Diwali
celebrations.

Granotone is a quality paint brand for all the artistic minds, and art lovers out there. They
collaborated with Pehchaan The Street School and sent some vibrant color kits to the
students during the Pehchaan Ki Diwali event week. The distribution of painting colors is a
creative, fun, and beautiful idea to fetch an artist out of a child. The collaboration gave the
students an opportunity to feel the creativity inside them and express it out on the paper.
The brand Granotone got introduced to the community of Pehchaan The Street School. The
organization and the vision reached to many artistic hearts of the Granotone community.

Apca India is a pastry and culinary brand in India. They train culinary professionals for the
aspiring industrialist. Apca sent meal boxes to Pehchaan The Street School students at
sunder nursery centers. This gesture added more enthusiasm to the celebration of the
Pehchaan Ki Diwali event. The collaboration made the children taste a unique flavor, and
filled the day with its sweetness.
Flavourbasket is a homegrown eggless premium quality cake and dessert brand. They
deliver cakes in Noida. They collaborated with Pehchaan The Street School and sent
muffins and pastries for the students in the Noida center. The children enjoyed the every
single bite. By providing eggless cakes, this brand caters to those people as well who love
cakes, but are apprehensive about intaking eggs. The collaboration opportunity introduced
Flavourbasket and Pehchaan The Street got to reach each other communities and share
their goal and stories.

Indiano Caterers are Delhi, India-based catering services since 8 years, and they
collaborated with Pehchaan The Street on the occasion of Pehchaan Ki Diwali week and
sent eatables to students at the GTB Nagar center. They are known for affordable and
quality catering services. The collaboration opportunity made the children’s Diwali a little
more special and delicious.

All these different brands, collaborated with Pehchaan The Street School with the common
emotions of compassion, love, caring, and joy. The goal was to offer an everlasting joyous
Diwali celebration to the underprivileged children, who are getting education at Pehchaan
The Street School. All the moments of happiness, that we discussed over here could not
have achieved without the enthusiasm shown by various brands, organizations, and
companies. Their unwavering support to Pehchaan The Street School was commendable
as it was instrumental in making the ‘Pehchaan Ki Diwali’ a successful day filled with
immense joy.
