What is work
immersion?
WORK IMMERSION
Is one of the course requirements for
graduation. A Senior High School student
has to undergo Work Immersion in an
industry that directly relates to the student's
postsecondary goal. These prepare them to
meet the needs and challenges of
employment or higher education after
graduation.

2 Major
Classifications
of EMPLOYEES
1. Regular Employees;
2. Non-Regular Employees.
1. Regular Employees
➢ is when an employee performs activities
that are usually necessary or desirable in
the usual business or trade of the
employer.
➢ They enjoy the benefit of security of tenure
provided by the Philippine Constitution and
cannot be terminated for causes other than
those provided by law and only after due
process is given to them.

➢ Employers can require their
new employees to undergo
probationary employment
before they can be qualified for
regular employment.
2. Non-Regular Employees
➢ is one who is performs
activities that are not usually
necessary and with limited
tenure of service which can be
terminated once the reason of
employment was already
completed or achieved.

whether or not he is qualified

➢ is one who is hired on occasional

➢ For example, a mechanic who is hired from
time to time to fix the machinery in a
manufacturing company is a project employee.
Legal Limitation As a project employee, they
are devoid of security of tenure, thus, can be
terminated even when the work has not yet
been finished and even without a cause.

D. Seasonal Employees
➢ A seasonal employee is an employee who is
hired into a position for which the
“customary” annual employment is six
months or less. Employees hired into a
position for a short term. They are mostly
part-time or temporary workers that help out
with increased work demands or seasonal
work that arise in different industries.

E. Fixed-Term Employees
➢ Is when the employee renders service for a
definite period of time and employment
contract must be terminated after such
period expires. This type of employment is
determined not by the activities that

regulated and is subject to the following criteria:

Workers that render services for a total of
