Module 7 Lesson 5 Content Updating
There is one other key point to think about with on page optimization, which is that your
content isn't ever really done. I wanna emphasize this Seo is not a static activity. Virtually
everything in Seo is a moving target.
And here are a few reasons why number one competitors come and go the CPS change, not
just because Google's algorithm is shuffling the results around, but because new bloggers are
coming onto the scene in your niche, you can take your keyword positions. While at the same
time, there are other bloggers who are abandoning their sites and losing in the rankings over
time. Number two, new products and trends emerge that old topic you wrote about may not
be relevant very much longer and that product you hyped might be off the market. Now, your
content needs to adjust with the times to ensure it continues to provide the maximum amount
of value for your readers and for you. Number three, the search algorithm changes. I can't tell
you how many times the Google search algorithm gets updated and throws off professional
bloggers and se os with its changes, you should be prepared to adjust your content as Google
reinforces what it wants to see from your content. And lastly, number four audiences evolve.
People get older audiences change their preferences and expectations and even the topics
they care about can shift over time.
You should be prepared to change and update your content when it's not resonating with
your audience anymore. I'm not gonna dive too deeply into the process of content updating
here. But I will say this after you've given an article 1 to 2 months to rank, you should go back
and check how it's ranking for various keywords using Google search console or by searching
Google for the target keyword in an incognito window and seeing where your article shows
up.
I do this often for my own content just to confirm that it's ranking where I expected. If it's
going well position, you know, one through three, then I'll leave it alone. If, if it's not as high as
I'd like, then the issue will either come down to content quality on page optimization or
domain authority. You can easily address those first two just by taking a step back and asking
what your article is missing and think about how to improve it.
Maybe add images, expand on some points or figure out new ways to make it better. OK?
Now, if you're following along with your own blog post, then by now it should be edited
optimized and ready to go live. There's only one more thing we need to do before we hit,
publish monetization.
