(B) The triangles are similar but not congruent.

(C) The triangles are congruent and similar.

(D) None of the statements above is true.

2.Find perimeter of a square if its diagonal is 10√ 2cm.

(A) 10 cm

(B) 40√ 2cm

(C) 20 cm

(D) 40 cm

3.Altitude on the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle divides it in two parts of lengths 4
cm and 9 cm. Find the length of the altitude.
(A) 9 cm

(B) 4 cm

(C) 6 cm

(D) 2√6 cm

4.A circle touches all sides of a parallelogram. So the parallelogram must be a .

(A) rectangle

(B) rhombus

(C) square

(D) trapezium
(B) Solve the following subquestions: [4]
1.Draw any circle. Take any point A on it and construct tangent at

A without using the centre of the circle. 2.In ∆RST, ∠S = 90°, ∠T

= 30°, RT = 12 cm, then find RS and ST.

Q.2.(A) solve the following questions (any two): [4]

1.If, A – D – C and B – E – C. seg DE || side AB. If AD = 5,

DC = 3, BC = 6.4, then find BE. 2.Find the length of the

side and perimeter of an equilateral triangle whose height

is √3 cm.

3.If circles with centres X and Y touch each other at point Z. A secant passing through Z
intersects the circles at points A and B respectively. Prove that, radius XA || radius YB.

(B) Solve the following subquestions (any four): [8]

1.In the adjoining figure, chord EF || chord GH. Prove that, chord EG ≅ chord FH.

2 Draw a circle of diameter 6.4 cm. Take a point R at a distance equal to its diameter
from the center. Draw tangents from point R
3. ∆ABC ~ ∆LBN. In ∆ABC, AB = 5.1 cm, ∠B = 40°, BC = 4.8 cm, AC/LN = 4/7. Construct
∆ABC and ∆LBN.

Sum of the squares of adjacent sides of a parallelogram is 130 cm and length of

4.

one of its diagonals is 14 cm. Find the length of the other diagonal

5. In ∆ABC, B-D-C and BD = 7, BC = 20, then find following ratios.

Q.3. (A) Complete the following questions (any one): [3]

1. In the adjoining figure, ∆PQR is an equilateral triangle. Point S is on seg QR such that

QS = 1/3 QR. Prove that: 9 PS² = 7 PQ²

In the adjoining figure, O is the centre of the circle. Seg AB, seg AC are tangent
2.

segments. Radius of the circle is r and l(AB) = r. Prove that,

□ABOC is a square.

(B) Solve the following subquestions (any two): [6]

1. Prove that any three points on a circle cannot be collinear

2. In the adjoining figure, circle with centre M touches the circle with centre N at point

T. Radius RM touches the smaller circle at S. Radii of circles are 9 cm and 2.5 cm.
