“ Traffic Management System ”.
Benefits:-
Reducing traffic jams and accidents on the streets. Ensuring immediate clearance for emergency
vehicles. Facilitating safer and shorter commute times. Reducing congestion & energy
consumption at intersections.
2. Course outcomes
I Vinod.V.Buramwar visited library for getting information on topic .I searched on Wikipedia and
got many result about my topic .Then I searched about my topic Traffic Management System I
got many result but difficult to find important point then also finally find out the main and
important point's and after that I searched the data of my mini project in the book like:- Traffic
engineering and transportation by author William R Mc-Shake and in this way l Finally completed
my Mini-project.

Mini-Project Report
“Traffic Management System.’’
1. Rationale:-
Road Traffic Control Systems collect and analyze driving information of vehicles in the area,
perform the optimal traffic signal control in accordance with the constantly changing road traffic
situation, and provide useful traffic information to drivers based on the data collected.
Smart Traffic Management:-
Devices typically used include speed bumps, barricades to block streets, turn
prohibitions, stop signs, and raised pavement markers. Traffic restraint also includes programs to
foster bicycle and pedestrian travel.
Symmetry Electronics supplier, Digi International, defines smart traffic management
systems as technology solutions that municipalities can integrate into their traffic cabinets and
intersections today for fast, cost-effective improvements in safety and traffic flow on their city
streets.
Traffic Signs.
High-level warnings.
Channelizing devices.
Road surface markings.
Traffic Signal ( Lights) .
1) Traffic signs:-
- Traffic Signs or Road Signs are signs erected at the side of roads to provide information
to road users.
- A road sign, especially one carrying information intended to ensure the safe and smooth
movement of vehicles, such as speed limits, parking and lane restrictions, the presence of
crosswalks, etc.: The website explains traffic signs and rules, such as the rules for right of
way.
2) High level warnings:-
High-level warning devices are traffic control devices that are high enough to see over
other vehicles, such as vehicle roofs, poles, and other places not lower than eight feet (2.4
m).
3) Channelizing devices:-
Channelizing devices include cones, tubular markers, vertical panels, drums, barricades,
and barriers. Cones are used most commonly for Short Duration/Short Term maintenance
& Utility work
4) Road surface marking:-
Road surface Marking is defined as lines, patterns, words except road signs which
are applied or attached to the carriageway or kerbs or to objects within or adjacent to the
carriageway for Controlling, Warning, Guiding and Informing the road users.
The traffic control signals are based on the three-colour light system: red, yellow, and
green. The red light means stop, while the yellow means to wait or go slow, and the green
light means that the vehicles are allowed to go ahead.
Traffic signals consist of three colours: Red, Yellow, and Green. When the signal turns
red, you must stop, when it turns yellow, slow down and wait, and when it turns green,
go.
Purpose of Traffic Management System:-
The primary goal of traffic management is to make the movement of goods and persons as
efficient, orderly, and safe as possible. This applies to everyone who uses the roads, not only
operators of motor vehicles but also pedestrians and cyclists.
Traffic control has as its principal objective to manage the movement of people and goods as
efficiently and safely as possible. The dual objectives, however, frequently conflict or, at
least, compete.
The establishment of appropriate traffic flow and access into and through the Town of
Cottesloe, which maximises road safety and local amenity.
The establishment of a procedure from which necessary traffic management works are
undertaken in a cost effective and equitable manner.

8. Conclusion.
We known about the traffic management system in this microproject how the
traffic jam is prevented by obeying traffic signal traffic signs etc and the main objective of traffic
management system is to reduce the rate of accident (collision)And provide safe efficient journey
to vehicle users and pedestrian by managing the traffic the microproject is all about the
convenience of road users and by providingInformation about the traffic management system the
people will came to know the importance of it.
