spreadsheet is from range A1:I7.

1 Write down the function for the following:

.

1.1 To determine the total number of learners. (2)

1.2 To determine the number of learners in class A. (3)

1.3 The function =SUM(D3:H3) was used to calculate the total marks for Janette (2)
Brookes in cell I3. All totals in column I must to be rounded to a whole number
using a function.

Add the necessary function to =SUM(D3:H3).

2 When will one use the COUNTBLANK function? (1)

.

3 Use the following image to provide the answer to the functions below.
.

3.1 =POWER(A1,3) (1)

3.2 =LARGE(A1:A8,3) (1)

3.3 =COUNTIF(A1:A8,">70") (1)

3.4 =A4^2 (1)

3.5 =COUNTA(A1:A8) (1)

Practical Activity

Open the Contributors spreadsheet and carry out the instructions:

Work in the Contributors_2021 worksheet.

1 Insert a function in column A to allocate a random number between 1 and 50 to each (3)
. learner.

Copy the function down to the rest of the cells in the column.

2 Insert a function in cell P4 to determine the total number of articles ever published in the (2)
. school paper (column H).

3 Insert a function in cell P7 to determine the number of learners with no unpublished (2)
. articles (column I).

4 Insert a function in cell P10 to determine the number of learners who had more than 4 (3)
. articles published (column H).

5 Insert a function in cells P13, Q13 and R13 to determine the total number of articles (7)
. published (column H) per grade (column C).

6 Insert a function to the function already added in cell P16 to round the answer off to the (2)
. nearest whole number.

7 Insert a function in cell L40 to determine the average number of house points earned (4)
. (column L) by all the learners. Format the cell to display the answer to 2 decimal
places.

8 A function in cell D41 calculating the total number of participants was inserted, but the (1)
. correct answer is not displaying.

Correct the function to make sure that the correct answer is displaying.

9 Use a spreadsheet feature to highlight all the numbers in the categories that are above (4)
. the average to a green fill colour.
