Project Proposal: Restaurant Website

Project Name: Restaurant Website

Version: 1.0
Team Members: Sayyam Tahir (SP23-BSE-014), Numaan Khan (SP23-BSE-
012), Kazim Shaukat (SP23-BSE-024)

1. Introduction

This project proposes the development of a basic restaurant website using

only HTML. The website will provide essential information about the
restaurant, such as its menu, contact details, and general information.
Designed as a static website, it will focus on simplicity and accessibility,
operating within an environment where no styling (CSS) or advanced
functionality (JavaScript) is used.

2. Problem Statement

Small restaurants often struggle with creating a proper online presence,

relying heavily on social media or word-of-mouth advertising. Without a
dedicated website, customers may find it difficult to locate key details like
the menu, address, and operating hours. This project aims to solve this
problem by developing a simple website that presents all essential
restaurant information using basic HTML.

3. Solution Overview

The proposed website will be built entirely with HTML, focusing on a clear
and organized presentation of information. The structure will include
several static pages:

1. Home Page: Introduces the restaurant with its name, mission, and
general ambiance.

2. Menu Page: Lists food items, organized into categories such as

appetizers, main courses, and desserts.

3. Contact Page: Provides essential contact details, including phone

number, address, and any other essential details (if needed).

4. About Us Page: Shares the restaurant’s history, philosophy, and

team details.
This basic solution ensures that the restaurant has an accessible online
presence, even in resource-limited environments.

4. Scope

The scope of this project is limited to static HTML pages without any CSS
or JavaScript. The website will consist of:

 A Home Page offering a brief introduction to the restaurant.

 A Menu Page with a structured list of food items and categories.

 A Contact Page containing the restaurant’s phone number,

address, and an optional embedded map.

 An About Us Page with information about the restaurant’s history

and staff.

5. System Limitations/Constraints

 No CSS will be used, so there will be no visual styling.

 No JavaScript or other interactivity will be included, as the focus is

on static content.

 The website’s content will need to be manually updated if any

changes are required.

7. Conclusion

This project will provide a simple yet effective solution for restaurants that
need a basic online presence. By developing a static website using only
HTML, this project will offer an accessible platform for restaurant owners
to share crucial information with their customers. Though the absence of
styling or advanced features limits the design, it ensures the website
remains functional and straightforward.

This proposal outlines the development of a restaurant website within a

limited, static environment while still addressing the basic needs of small
businesses.
