This project presents a wireless sensor networking smart parking system that can
provide information about parking slots located in the parking area. In this study,
to find out the parking slots available in the parking area, a wireless
communication that can be monitored through the monitor screen is proposed.
The monitor serves as a monitoring of the parking slot area to be displayed, so
that visitors know whether the parking slot is still available or even fully charged.
The HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor is installed in each parking slot area, the sensor
will detect the parking slot, which will be filled by the car. The data obtained from
the ultrasonic sensor will be managed by arduino mega 2560 located in monitor
area and then sent to the monitoring area using the Wireless Sensor Network
Xbee-Pro S2 communication.
INTRODUCTION :
. A smart parking system uses wireless communication to collect and transmit data about
parking lot occupancy in real time.
. To design and implementation with a prototype of Smart Parking System that permits
drivers to locate effectively and withhold the vacant parking spaces.
. In this project the drivers are allowed to book a parking lot by seeing the availability
through server.
LITERATURE SURVEY:
1.Karan Upendrabhai Vyas, Adarsh Kumar, Vadher Dhaval Hareshkumar : This project
is about an automatic underground car parking system for residents.
2. Anasuya G, Christy Jackson J, Sathya Rajasekaran K and Kumar Kannan : The main
objective is to avoid the cramming in the car parking area by implementing an efficient
car parking system along with a user-friendly application for an ease of use.
3.Aditya Basu : Smart Parking systems typically obtains information about available
parking spaces in a particular geographic area and process is real-time to place
vehicles at available positions.
METHODOLOGY :
Smart parking systems use wireless communication technology and other methods
to help drivers find parking spaces and improve traffic flow:
● Sensors: Sensors can identify empty spaces in parking lots and alert drivers to
available parking spots.
● Mobile IoT: Mobile IoT can transmit information from sensors to a centralized database
to cover wide areas.
● Wireless sensor networks: Wireless sensor networks are made up of sensor nodes
that work together to sense and control the environment.
● Cameras: Cameras can be used to gather data about parking spaces.
● License plate readers: License plate readers can be used in smart parking systems.
● Assisted driving: Assisted driving can be used in smart parking systems.
● Mobile payments: Mobile payments can be used in smart parking systems.
Smart parking systems can help drivers save time and fuel by making it easier to find
parking.
