Personal Computer Revolution.
Revolution
(1970s – 1980s):
The history of the personal computer as a mass-
market consumer electronic device began with the
microcomputer revolution of the 1970s. A personal
computer is one intended for interactive individual use, as
opposed to a mainframe computer.
Modern Computing
1990S – Present:
World wide web (1991):
Tim Berners-Lee, a British scientist, invented the World Wide Web (WWW) in 1989, while
working at CERN. The Web was originally conceived and developed to meet the demand for
automated information-sharing between scientists in universities and institutes around the
world. This innovation marked the beginning of internet as we know today.
Mobile Computing (1992):
Mobile computing is human–computer interaction in which a computer is expected to be
transported during normal usage and allow for transmission of data, which can include voice
and video transmissions. Mobile computing involves mobile
communication, mobile hardware, and mobile software.
