ASH is falling in the vortex from the beginning of ARMY OF DARKNESS.


He’s yelling, flailing his arms. Ash is wearing the clothes he had on in S-Mart
at the ending of AOD in the S-Mart scene (the western one, after he tears off
his S-Mart uniform). He’s got one metal hand and in the other he’s holding
the rifle he holstered in that scene.

ASH CAPTION: You’re gonna think I’m nuts anyway, driven crazy with fear
or something. So why not go for broke here?

ASH CAPTION: I was sucked here … well … a vortex threw me here.

ASH CAPTION: It’s an evil force, created by a very evil book. A book more
evil than Fifty Shades of Gray.

ASH CAPTION: See, that’s a book about … never mind.

Panel 2.1: Ash lands with a thud, knocking the wind out of him … in a grave-
yard, at night. Angle from overhead looking down.
ASH: WHOOF!
SFX: THUMP!

Panel 2.2: Ash tries to get up on one elbow, but he’s too woozy from the fall
to do more. In the background some distance away: a bespectacled man about
chest-deep digging up a grave has stopped to look at Ash. The man’s holding
up his shovel. An old-fashioned lantern burns lowly.
ASH: (groans) Naaagh …

Panel 2.3: The man is now walking toward Ash. He can only be seen from
the waist down, several yards away. He’s carrying his shovel.
WEST: Do not attempt to move, sir. I believe you have been con-
cussed.
ASH: I don’t know, feels more like I hurt my head. Where am I?

Panel 2.4: Now the man’s legs/feet/shovel are right next to Ash, who’s now
looking up at …
WEST: Potter’s field.
ASH: Sorry Mr. Potter, I’ll –
WEST: I am not Potter, you fool.

ASH: Well, then Potter’s going to be pissed when he sees you’ve been dig-
ging up graves. Hey, you kind of look –

wearing a blood-stained apron and looming over Ash, observing him creepily
as he wakes up.

ASH: Ughhh … You’re a doctor?
