Safety Notes 1
While carrying out all work steps and checks, the product-specific safety notes contained
in the instructions, as well as the general safety notes contained in Register 2 of the TI
binder must be observed.
Tolerances 1
These tolerances apply to all dimensions indicated in the present instructions, if no other
tolerance is stated expressly behind the value.
A tolerance of ± 10% is permissible for torque data.
Required Documentation 1
• Installation certificate
• Test Protocol for Direct Exposure Equipment: RXD0-000.037.05...
NOTICE All tools, measuring instruments and aids are listed and specified
in the ARTD (Part 3), with the exception of the "standard installa-
tion tools".
Text Emphasis 1
WARNING All texts marked with "WARNING" call attention to potential risks
to health or life.
All values marked with the symbol ” ” must be transcribed into the supplied MULTIX
PRO Test Protocol for Direct Exposure Equipment (the test protocol is located in
Register 9 of the Subsystem Binder).
These measurement values can be used for the Acceptance Test per Röntgenverordnung
§16 which is mandatory in Germany or other country-specific regulations.
CAUTION Checks or adjustment that must be carried out under radiation are
labeled with the radiation warning symbol .
While adjustment labeled with this symbol are being carried out,
radiation protective clothing must be worn.
Abbreviations Used 1
The terms ”length” and ”width” used in these instructions, as well as the orientation of
inserted cassettes should be understood as illustrated in the sketch:
Length

Width X
30 cm x 24 cm cassette
Patient
*1 The first number always
indicates the width!

Remark 2
From the Test Protocol, it can be seen at which line voltage the MULTIX PRO system was
tested. The standard connection is 2-phase, 400V, 50/60 Hz. If an adaptation needs to be
made to the local line power, proceed according to the points in the wiring diagram
marked with an asterisk (*). The Test Certificates are filed in Register 9 of the System
Binder.
Generator Startup 2

• Check the coincidence of the line light localizer to the centring cross.
• Set a vertical SID = 115 cm.
• Switch on the line light localizer and open the collimator all the way.
• Check the coincidence of the line light localizer to the centering cross (see Fig. 2). Move
the tube assembly between the min. and max. SID, when this is done, the line light
localizer alignment to the collimator centering cross must remain centered over the
entire SID range.
Fig. 3 Fig. 4
• Position the tube assembly with a vertical beam path approx. 1 m above the floor.
• Switch on the light localizer and mark the position of the light field on the floor.
• Use the knobs (1/Fig. 3) to collimate a narrow light field in the longitudinal direction.
• Switch on the light localizer and move the tube unit to the max. SID; when doing this,
check the drift of the light field. Drift may be a max. of 5 mm.
Correction:
• Remove the tube assembly housing (1/Fig. 4) (2 paneling screws).
• Loosen the 2 Allen screws (2/Fig. 4) approx. 2 turns.

Procedure:
• Position the central beam so it is vertical, center the tube assembly to the cassette tray
marker and set the SID to 115 cm.
• Place a center marker on a 24x30 cm (10’’x12’’) cassette (tape on a metal washer) and a

(SID = 115 cm).
• Trigger an exposure ( ; 50 kV; 5 mAs) and develop the film.
Evaluation:
• Evaluate the center deviation ∆
per Fig. 12 and document this value in the Test
Protocol, Point 4.2 "Checked during startup" (Checking Center of Radiation Field Center
and Film Center, Bucky A).
- The deviation may not exceed 17 mm at an SID of 115 cm.

per the Chapter "Startup and Function Check" and document this in the Test Protocol for
Direct Exposure Equipment, RXD0-000.037.05...
• After the check of the IONTOMAT is completed, continue with the following paragraph in
these instructions.
With the POLYDOROS SX 65/80, carry out the check of the Diamentor per Startup
Instructions, RX63-055.034.01..., Chap. "DIAMENTOR MS".
With the POLDOROS LX 30/50 and POLYDOROS LITE, only an external Diamentor can
be connected, and carry out the check per the manufacturer’s instructions.
After completing the check of the DIAMENTOR, continue with the following paragraph in
these instructions.
For each application device with a moveable grid, check at which exposure time tg grid
lines can no longer be seen on the film.
Procedure:
• At the generator, select small focus, 80%, 40 kV and middle IONTOMAT chamber.
• Set an SID of 115 cm.
• Insert a 18x24cm cassette without film.
• Trigger exposures beginning at 40 kV until the exposure times of ≥ 3 ms result
(increase the kV value -> exposure time becomes briefer).
• Insert a 18x24cm cassette with film.
• Trigger the exposure with the previously determined kV value.
• Use a magnifier at the light box to determine at which switch time grid lines can no longer
be seen on the film.
• If the grid delay needs to be changed, carry out the test setup and the measurement as
indicated in Fig. 15. The generator delay time can be changed using the Service PC per
Chapter "Programming the System".
• Document the switch time in Chapter 8 of the "Test Protocol for Direct Exposure
Equipment", RXD0-000.037.05... for the particular unit.
- Grid lines for exposure times of ≥ 3 ms are not allowed.
NOTICE The generator delay time must be determined for the generator
being used and the catapult Bucky programmed with this value;
see bottom diagram. Only then are exposures free of grid lines
beginning at 3 ms over all time ranges.
