• Functions
1. SUM: This function adds up all the numbers in a
group of cells. For example, if you have numbers in
cells A1 to A5 and you want to find out the total, you
use `=SUM(A1:A5)`. It's like adding all the numbers
together.

2. AVERAGE: This function finds the average of a

group of numbers. For example, if you want to know
the average score of students in cells B1 to B5, you
use `=AVERAGE(B1:B5)`. It's like finding the
"middle" number, or the typical score, in your data.

3. MAX: This function finds the highest number in a

group of cells. For example, to find the highest score
in cells C1 to C5, you use `=MAX(C1:C5)`. It's like
finding out who got the best score.
4. MIN: This function finds the lowest number in a
group of cells. For example, to find the lowest score
in cells D1 to D5, you use `=MIN(D1:D5)`. It's like
finding out who got the lowest score.

5. COUNT: This function counts how many cells

have numbers in them. For example, if you want to
count how many students scored above a certain
mark in cells E1 to E5, you use `=COUNT(E1:E5)`.
It's like counting how many students took a test.
• Formula
You can use Excel formulas to find patterns in the
values in your spreadsheet’s cells, conduct
calculations on those values, and then return the
results to the cell of your choice.
For example:
=A1+A2
=A1-A2
=A1*A2
=A1/A2

+ is used for addition

- is used for Subtraction
* is used for Multiplication
/ is used for Division
