ASSESSMENT NOTIFICATION

COURSE Year 9 Mathematics 5.2

TASK NAME AT1 Indices, Numbers of any Magnitude & Linear Relationships
TASK WEIGHT 30%
NOTIFICATION DATE Tuesday 22 March 2022
DUE DATE Friday 1 April 2022

OUTCOMES ASSESSED
MA5.2-7NA Applies index laws to operate with algebraic expressions involving integer indices
MA5.2-9NA Uses the gradient-intercept form to interpret and graph linear relationships
MA5.1-9MG Interprets very small and very large units of measurement, uses scientific notation, and rounds to significant figures

TASK DESCRIPTION
This task covers the content taught in the topics:
Indices Parts 1, & 2.
Numbers of any magnitude.
Linear Relationships Part 1, 2 and 3

This test must be completed under test conditions and students must not refer to their booklets or any other written notes during the
test.

Write using black or blue pen. Black pen is preferred.

NESA approved calculators may be used.

Students need to hand write their answers on an exercise book or writing pad, scan their completed work and upload their scanned work
to the appropriate assessment task drop bin on eLearning. It is very important that students write their name on the test, clearly label
each question and set out their solutions according to mathematical conventions.

Alternatively, supervisors may print a copy of the test for students to write on before scanning and uploading to eLearning.

This assignment has a weighting of 30% of the yearly assessment. Students must submit their own work.

Assessment Task 1 must be uploaded to the Assessment Task 1 drop bin or emailed to your teacher by Friday 1st April 2022
