INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION

The people of all nations, today, are anxious to embark upon development programs
that would enable them to enjoy a life enriched by increased supply consumers
goods and services. The feasibility of these projects has to be seen in the light of the
resources of a nation. Efficient and systematic planning has to be able done so as to
make the best of the limited resources available in the country. This requires highly
qualified and expert staff who would accept the challenge.

We would launch our firm under the name of GRAPHIC ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
Meaning architecture aid: as our forte is designing, planning, and construction. The
firm is registered under the companies act, 2008. It consists of a dedicated team of
architects engineers and administration who survive to the almost of their abilities to
see every projects through to a successful end.

The firm has covered successful ventures ever since its inception and given its
clients the best services. Attention to the practical and economic viability of a project
has always been a major guiding factor of this firm policy and much of the firms
objectives revolve around ideal. In addition very talented, motivated and zealous
design groups, backed by the varied experience of the Firm’s members enable it to
pursue a vigorous and intensive approach to building design. It is by this combination
of authentic economics and engineering expertise that the firm has continued to
maintain the high standard of architectural and engineering services. Our engineers
are always anxious to infuse new ideas for better, economical and modern
structures.

Since its inception the firm has had a successful practice in all fields of architectural
and engineering design, including that of urban planning, mechanical/electrical
services. The distinct character of our establishment is diversity and specification in
various disciplines of architecture and engineering, with each member devoting the
maximum time and talented to a specific building type. Our endeavor remains to
raise the level of construction industry, wherever we work whether it be at home or

During preliminary discussion with the client, we outline our services as set out in the
‘’standard form of agreement between client and consultants’’. A contract entered into
based on this document which clearly explains both the client’s responsibilities and our
own responsibilities and services, and the fees pertaining to them.

A carefully planned approach to the administration of all projects enable our organization
to utilize its resources and experience with maximum efficiency .On large projects, we
analyze the program in detail and develop it into a critical path program.

PRELIMNARY DESIGN

At the commencement of a project discussion are held to establish the client’s basic
requirements, an evaluation of this site is made, and investigation carried out to identify
any special planning restrictions or zoning requirements relevant to the site. As soon as
the feasibility of the project is accepted environmental studies are held to establish the
building character. On large scale projects traffic pattern studies are carried out, both
within the site as well as throughout the adjoining road network.

Sketch plans are prepared showing the general outline of the proposal with particular
emphasis on the basic relationship of the various main elements in the building or
buildings, and the assessment of probable floor area requirements. The sketches are
submitted to the client together with a detailed report and preliminary cost estimate.
WORKING DRAWINGS

Production of working drawings starts after approval of the detailed design. Detailed
drawings are prepared to enable tenders to be called and to provide all necessary
subsequent construction information drafting teams are established under a project
leader or both to produce the complete work embodying the structural design and all
consulting Engineering Work. Progress meetings with all consultants are held regularly
to ensure complete integration of specific requirements and to resolves problems of a
complex nature which may arise as the drawings progress. Calculations are made with
the help of computer in our structural department to ensure the most accurate analysis
and design of the building structure. With its aid different structural systems can be
analyised rapidly and the most efficient and economical system selected.

Specifications are prepared to supplement and clarify the information contained on the
drawings. Before final presentation to the client, and calling of tenders, the drawings and
specification are carefully checked with consultant to ensure maximum coordination of
all elements of the building. Tenders are then called, either by public or advertisement or
invitation as the client wishes. We examine the tenders with the client and prepare an
analysis for his consideration with his recommendations. After acceptance of the
successful tender, contract documents are drawn up for signature of owners and
contractor.
DETAILED DESIGN

On approval of the preliminary design detailed design studies are begun. Specific
planning requirements are established, structural systems confirmed, selection of
building materials made and construction methods evaluated Engineers who prepared
detailed studies of the building services and recommend systems most appropriate to
the design requirements.

Detailed design drawings are prepared based on all available information often
supplemented by models or renderings, together with a further report and more detailed
cost estimate for consideration by the client.

In addition to our usual services, we offer complete interior programme, Drapes,


Furnishing, accessories and art work are recommended, specifications drawn up tenders
obtained, and the work installed under expert supervision. Land scapping design is
another important additional service offered, and we frequently consult in this capacity.
CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
During construction, we advise on all matters relating to the execution of the work. We
examine and approve samples, schedules, shop drawings and other submissions from
the contractor to ascertain compliance with the contract .Change the Owner when
amendments are required, and monthly progress claims evaluated and progress claims
evaluated and progress certificates issued.

Regular reports are sent to the client outlining the progress of all phases of the work.
Deficiencies are noted and when necessary work is condemned should it fail to confirm
to the contract documents. Job meetings are held regularly.

As the contract approaches completion, prefinal inspections are held to establish


’’Substational completion’’ of all outstanding deficiencies.

During the warranty period the senior representatives of the consultant and contractors,
make frequent visits to the site to check that all elements are performing satisfactorily
and that the owner is adequately supplied with information regarding the operation and
care of the building systems. The time spent on this phase ensures the smooth transition
from contractor to owner, one of the successful features of a successful project.
