Lesson 1:
1. Watch the video " The world's worst research presentation" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?
v=SGqp4-bZQY).
It depicts reality. Even though I found out in the last part that it is scripted, it's still happening in
the real world. In my 19 years of existence in this world, I've encountered several speakers just like in
the video. Speakers that is unprepared. Speakers with so many distractions. But what matters most is,
we should not judge a person by he/she presents himself/herself with certain topic without
understanding the reasons behind all of it. We also have the responsibility to do our part like
clarifying and asking questions especially to those unfamiliar to you. Always remember that "those
who are afraid of asking are afraid of learning.
Guide Questions:
The presentation became worst because everything is not arranged properly. The speaker
came unprepared. There are so many distractions from start until the end of the presentation. Also,
there is no eye contact and interaction from the speaker and the audience. The speaker only read
from her notes without elaborating it.
2. In what ways can the presentation be improved?
Firming up
In what ways can the different forms of communication (intrapersonal, interpersonal, small group,
public and mass) be enhanced with the aid of technology?
Technology enhances the different forms of communication by making it easier, more efficient,
cheaper and faster to send messages through these means.
Introspecting
From this lesson, I realized that in today's digital society, communication is mediated using
technology. Therefore, to make the communication effective, we must learn how technology works,
what purposes it can serve and how it can be used efficiently and effectively used to achieve specific
goals in the communication process. I also realized that in preparing multimedia presentations for
various communication purposes, it is important to consider the characteristics of multimedia
presentation and the Steps in making effective multimedia presentations.
