The chart shows the percentage of males and females who were overweight in Australia from 1980 to
2010.

The diagram illustrate the percentage of overweight men and women between
1980 and 2010 in Australia.

Overall, an upward trend was recorded in the figure for obese Australian males
from 1980 to 2000. In addition, the percentage of men suffering from obesity was
consistently higher than that of woman.

1980 observed the lowest rates of obesity in both Australian men and woman,
with only around 40% and 30%, respectively. A slight rise can be observed the
percentage of Australian obese man in 1990 compared to the previous decade,
whereas that figure for woman recorded a significant increase, up by nearly 15%
to around 45% in 1990. The statistics for obesity in Australian men and woman
both reach its peak in 2000, with about 65% in men and around 53% in woman.

In contrast, the year 2010 observed declines in both categories to just around
60% in men and 62% in woman.
