November 2024
From
Vicar's Desk
November, 2024

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The end of October and beginning of November marks few important events in the life of
Christian Church around the globe. Nailing of the 95 theses by Martin Luther on the door of
the Castle Church, Wittenberg, on October 31, 1517, came to be considered the beginning of
the Protestant Reformation. November 1st is celebrated as All saint’s day also known as All
Hallows' Day, the Feast of All Saints, the Feast of All Hallows, the Solemnity of All Saints, and
Hallowmas, is a Christian solemnity celebrated in honour of all the saints of the Church,
whether they are known or unknown. November 2nd is celebrated as All Souls' Day is a
Christian observance of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed. Moreover, we
are close to yet another Advent season and the end of the year. It is incredible to know that
time passes faster each moment.

Thank you all for your constant support and unceasing prayers for the mission and
ministry of our Church.

MCSI Anniversary
I am delighted to note that MCSI is celebrating our 13th anniversary on 3rd November,
Sunday. Indeed, it is yet another milestone in the history of our church. I urge you to thank
God for his providence and unfailing love throughout the past years of our spiritual journey
as a worshiping community.

Annual Convention
The Annual Convention was held on 4th to 6th of October. Revd. Argo Biswas, vicar of the
Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Hampton Park enriched us with the meaningful sharing of
the Word of God.

ADOM Synod Meeting

ADOM General Synod meeting was held at the St. Paul’s Cathedral from 9th to 12th of
October. The Synod meeting was remarkable as it was the last Synod meeting for the
Archbishop Dr. Philip Feirer before his retirement in coming February.

ADOM Multicultural Meeting

A special meeting of Pastors from various cultural, ethnic, linguistic and geographic
diversities currently working in ADOM was held on 15th October at Holy Trinity Anglican
Church, East Melbourne. It was also an opportunity to give a farewell to the archbishop.
Aged care ministry.

Vicar visits the aged care facility on every third Tuesdays of the month and celebrates
Holy Communion with the residents. Mrs. Leonie and Mrs. Margaret from the St. Mathew’s
congregation accompanies the vicar in his visit and makes necessary arrangements.

Harvest Festival
As we all know, the Harvest Festival is one of the biggest events of our church for the last
many years, I request all families to prepare yourselves to make this event a memorable
one. Make sure you are in attendance with family on that day. Actively engage in every
activity related to this festival and contribute generously.

May the good Lord continue to bless you all.

Shalom

Revd. Bijumon Joseph (Vicar)
