HW = Homework
IL = Instruction Lecture
Q&A = Questions and Answers
CE = Computer Exercises
AE = Additional Exercise
(-) = Exercise that will be done if time allows

Remark: If the time in the IL appears to be too short to do all exercises, the rest should be done at home.

Specification per chapter:

• Chapter 5, 6 en 7: Completely, during the lectures a summary/repetition of the most important terms in probability theory is given.
For more information, you are supposed to read the chapters yourself!
• Chapter 8: The theory about discrete and continuous rvs.
Pages: 233 to 265 (Chebyshev not included)
Pages 267 to 271 will not be covered during the lectures; self reading is required here.
• Chaper 9: Bernouilli distribution and Binomial distribution.
Pages: 287 to 296 (hypergeometric distribution not included).

• Chapter 10: section 10.1 and 10.3.

• Chapter 11, everything except p346-349 (this bit is about conditional distributions) and on p357 the part about the Poisson-distributions.

• Chapter 12: section12.1, 12.2 and 12.4 (ttill page 381).

• Chapter 13, everything except the inequality of Chebyshev on page 394 to 395 (theory + example).

• Chapter 14, everything except the part about inequality of Chebyshev on page 417-418.

• Chapter 15, the examples 15.1, 15.2 and 15.4 can be skipped in course week 4, and be readed as of from week 5.

• Chapter 16, 17, 18, completely

Chapter 19: paragraph 19.1 to 19.8 (p576 and 586 can be skipped).
The (calculation of the) intervals (L, U) and (L_p, U_p) in paragraph 19.7.2., you do not have to study.

Chapter 20, 21, completely
